Should I go Naked?

Should I have Abalonee Dots instaled or go Naked?

I saw one bass that had small (slightly larger than side dot size) diamond shaped dots on the left side of the fretboard about a quarter inch in from the edge. I thought that looked pretty classy if you wanted to put dots on a custom neck.

Side dots for sure. But given the choices, I voted plain. Can’t see going to the expense of getting a custom neck only to have it end up looking like a production neck unless you’re more comfortable with neck markers.

On the other hand, if you are more comfortable having dots, then it’s silly leaving them off. Because it is your neck.

I went Naked, cuz guitarists trying to see where you are on the neck can’t tell when there aren’t any reference dots, lol. Learn the song lazy a$$!

Used to play a Warwick ‘vette and a Fender Aerodyne and it drive my guitarist crazy cuz neither had dots. He was always asking ‘where are you?’ and I would always reply ‘right where I’m sposed to be, where are you?’
