Should I join/quit the band?

Exploiter that's a good question. I know the drummer does like that music a lot but he's open to a lot of things and the guitarist just kind of goes with the flow and never really offers much input on anything. When we were trying to come up with a band name he just kept saying " I don't care" or "It's up to you guys".

Try telling them that as it's effectively the same band as before you are a founder member and have an input on decisions and direction. Should be interesting.

That is how it comes across to me too.

All that was effectively done was to restructure who was in charge so that the "newest" member is calling the shots about musical direction.

If it were me, I'd move along and find others to play with.

Life is too short to already be playing these power games at your age.

Ok so I talked with the drummer about everything and he did exactly as I feared and defended the vocalist to the death solely because they are related. All of the good points I made were shrugged off yet he had no problem nitpicking some little things I do. The vocalists main reason for leaving was lack of communication though I felt we communicated enough and what's ironic is that he left without telling anybody. He's a huge hypocrite and the drummer seems to be following in his footsteps as I was not told any of this until my vacation was nearly over. I told him that vocalists were a dime a dozen and he agreed yet said we wouldn't find anyone else near us. >_> It also seemed like he was pointing the finger at me for no shows at practice, even when I most of the time show up and if I don't i have good reasons like family related stuff.

Did you like the music with the original guitarist?

I say play the music you enjoy. That might even mean quitting and starting your own project. You will make many more friends in music. No reason to stick by someone who has an agenda that you don't agree with.
