Should I trust basscentral?

The website has moduluses in colors that I haven't seen ever, and for only 2700 but the website looks pretty poorly done and looks sketchy to me, I dont want to get scammed out of my money,

their one of the most reputable and highly recomended stores / dealers in the country. Do call about the exact bass your looking at before you buy as they are slow to update the site sometimes. Also you get a discount for being a member here. Beaver and Grasshopper are awesome!

Excellent shop and people. Grasshopper is from my neck of the woods over here on the coast. In fact he used to room with the guitar player in my band when they were playing together years ago. That Ric with all the sigs is the one he played back then.

I would assume that the OP was some sort of a troll except for the fact that I totally dig the sketchy website thing. To be honest though, I suspect they could throw serious $$ at the site and it wouldn't add a whole lot to what actually makes them great: A simple mission, executed well, with great customer support.

True story: I grew up about 15 minutes from their shop, but had never been there until a couple of years ago.

I'd never seen or tried a MM Bongo in the flesh, tried one off the wall, and mentioned that I'd been drooling over a Dargie II they have on the website. I told them I was just browsing, and couldn't buy then, but one of the guys went in the back, brought it out for me to see...even tweaked the intonation before I even touched it, just to make sure it was right.

I felt bad that I couldn't / didn't buy it from them, but they bust their humps, and clearly love their trade and craft. Friendly, helpful, no-pressure folks...these guys are the real deal.

They'll be the first I call next time I want or need anything (and can afford it).

The first bass was the Breast Cancer Awareness bass that was made for me by the Music Man company. They ended up donating 100% of the money they would have made off of that bass to our Relay for Life team because my wife had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. At that time I had never purchased a thing from them. Beaver did that simply out of kindness as what not asked to do so.

Wow that is awsome of him to do!!!!!

Unfortunately, these days, web presence reflects on the professionalism of a business (for better or worse). I can see how someone without the background knowledge could find that site on the web and just move on.

Wait!!! No humans work in that store?

Mike works there too. And I've met them all (and Dave) and can assure you that they are most certainly human. Some of the nicest humans I've ever met.

Is that his Ric? It was hanging on the wall behind the desk last week when I was in there, but I didn't ask whose it was.

Beaver Felton and Dave Larue don't have their name on the business to rip people off. All new Music Man basses I have purchased have come from them. You can't go wrong.

Bass Central is totally legit. Great staff. Excellent service. They spend more time taking care of their customers than they do the website, and it's noted in several places on the site that they leave up pictures of previously sold merchandise so you can see what they can order in for you. Call them to check what's really in stock if you're seeing something you like. I'm a regular in there to fondle the merchandise, so if there's ever anything you want up close and personal pictures/video of, just ask. I'm happy to help you out.

I purchased two of my three Spectors from Beaver Felton at BC.
Great store, great staff, fantastic customer service, and Beaver is The Man!
He is super nice to deal with, and he is an awesome bassist as well - check out some of his instructional videos on YouTube for some truly amazing bass playing.

I also bought from them over the phone a Lakland 55-02 many years ago. The only con is that they shipped the bass to Canada floating around in a cardboard box with no packing at all.
Luckly, it arrived in perfect condition.

Great folks, selection & prices.
Bought an amp head from them and though it arrived unscathed it was poorly packed. It was loose sliding around within a box with less than the minimum of bubble wrap.
