Should people go to prison for filing false rape cases?

But jail? I don't support it and I do not want hundreds or thousands or maybe even millions of innocent men rotting in those places.

There are currently 2.3 million people incarcerated in the USA.

21.5% (494,500) are pre-trial detainees.

8.8% (202,400) are women.

That leaves 1.6 million convicted, incarcerated, men.

...and you think "hundreds of thousands or maybe even millions" of them are innocent?

Do you really believe we have an overall (on ALL crimes) false conviction rate approaching 50%? Really?

Man, BR is one of those few guys who will make me just cast aside some of the respect and common decency I usually treat others with. Makes me hate myself :(

I feel ya. When I have to make an effort to bite my tongue, its time for me to leave the conversation. Or, in this case, make use of the sites rarely used features.

The fact that Matticus, who is usually a pretty mellow, go-with-the-flow guy, is visibly agitated by him is quite telling.

The only other poster on Talkbass who has driven me to frustration was bluewine, who I actually liked.
It was just absolutely impossible for him to understand that things can successfully be done in a manner different from how he has successfully done them.
For some people, their way is the only way, even if your way works better for you.

The 495K are by definition innocent.

I fix for you.

'It wasn't my fault that I forced my ***** into her, officer. She was wearing a short skirt and a low-cut top, how could I resist?'

Yeah. Right.

Why would you do such a thing? You should report your crime and get a first hand journey through that Kafkaesque land known as justice.

Actually I may be wrong but this site might have a requirement to report an online confession like this.

I honestly forget that it's there most of the time. Over the years, there are only maybe two or three posters on Talkbass whom I can actually say that I personally disliked (and even despite my ribbing of TwoFingers in his Signing Off thread, I actually liked him...I just thought he was grossly ignorant about a lot of things he claimed authority on). At the end of the day, it's words on a screen for me; I probably get more riled up over annoying stuff that comes across my Facebook feed since I know most of those people personally.

Ha, didn't Marley make a thread with a link to an MRA who was female? She was basically the gender studies equivalent to Uncle Rukus from The Boondocks.

Yeah. Of course the idea was it must be true since a woman said men were oppressed.

Have you seen that black republican intern that goes on about how slavery was good and flies the stars and bars? I'll have to find it when I'm on my computer, I just hope it is next level trolling
