i think it depends on whether you ever want to sell your bass.
stickers come off, but they will leave a mark on your finish (if left on for a few years).

If somebody puts bumper stickers all over their car, I would assume that they would have no problem putting them on their bass gear too ... I would have no interest in it in either case ... and, if I am looking to purchase a piece, and it has stickers, no matter how adamant the seller is that they will come off, I will consider it permanently scarred and value the piece accordingly ...

I wouldn't, personally. And I wouldn't cover an instrument in lighter fluid and burn it either.

The "stick" in stickers is slow drying glue, so if you leave it on long enough, it's glued on. If you do manage to get it off again, count on the finish looking different under the sticker. There's a guy on another thread right now trying to figure out how to get the yellow off his white pickguard to match the place where the sticker was.

I won't put stickers on my bass, car, bike, anything. But no issue with folks who do. Apparently the stickers that were on my Kramer must not have been on that long, because they lifted off cleanly with no solvents needed.

No, because I remember that famous internet thread from a few years ago (from Musicianforums or Ultimate Guitar) where a lad borrowed his dad's Gibson Les Paul for a punk show and covered it in stickers. When he tried to remove the stickers to sneak the guitar back into the collection, the stickers had wrecked the ntirocellulose finish!

Even on a poly finish, I don't like them. The only one I woll concede is a 'Roddy Piper' sticker on the upper horn on a P bass body with a Michael Tobias jazz neck and Bartolini pickups.

I never put stickers on anything. Not on my car, not on cases, and absolutely not on and of my guitars or basses.

I probably wouldn't myself, but only because I haven't seen one I want.
I certainly have no issue with other people doing it to theirs.

3. Do you want to put said sticker on said bass?

If you answer "yes" to all three, go ahead. If not, do not proceed.
