Should you put stickers on a bass.

The only cool stickers are Fender headstock logos on Squier and other non-Fender branded basses.
If you like them and you aren't concerned with resale value. Go for it. Make your bass you.

Dude it's a beautiful Fender American Elite P-Bass that cost me over 2k and is Tobacco Sunburst. So again, HELL NO!
YES!! As long as you don't forget the googly eyes and a snare strainer!
There is nothing sacred or special about most mass produced basses that suggests to me it is a bad idea in any way.
Here is my sticker bass, mostly local bands and local businesses I support. I'll keep adding more.

Specs: Used Dean ABG I got for $50 with case because the bass had bad frets. I ripped the frets out, coated the f-board with epoxy, added the Teisco pickup to the soundhole, mounted a snare strainer on the back, and put a pickup inside the back to amplify the snare strainer. Sounds like a drum machine when I want it to! fresh set of DR Pure Blues and it sounds fantastic plugged in or acoustic.To do list: make a new nut, install a set of sympathetic resonating strings inside the body, and apply more stickers yay!

That might just be the coolest bass ever!
It's fun but honestly I don't "turn it on" very often. I'll see if I can make a little recording this weekend
Thanks. It might be if i ever get those sympathetic strings in there. i'm stuck on the "engineering" aspect of that. Meanwhile I am in deeply committed relationships with my Czech Upright and a gorgeous Pedulla Hexabuzz (no stickers on either of those by the way). So I am not as inspired to work on the sticker bass as much any more.
IMO those aren't great stickers, so I would remove them.
If you're going to put stickers on an instrument, they should be big & bold enough for the audience to be able to see.
This American Standard is my battle bass, and so yes, I'm proud to say that it reflects the glory that it's earned. The back is signed by the Misfits, Clash, Sex Pistols... Again, it's so funny that guys are swearing that this is taboo. What happened to taste, opinion, and individuality? G&L has been building me custom basses for 10 years and I don't put stickers on those... Nor do I put them on my pristine vintage pieces.
I also don't touch my basses without washing my hands first, I don't let anyone else touch them without doing the same, and I don't put them away without cleaning them. So if you're not doing that, then you might as well put stickers on your bass. The crud on your hands (germs, turds, french fry grease, sweat/ acid) is just as bad as sticker glue.
