Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Finished!

I can’t think of anything else I could want or need... maybe even have too much...

Dinky 6 string guitar board is unnecessarily complicated....

Haha I'm the opposite. My guitar board is dead simple (wah, overdrive, chorus, delay, buffer), but my bass board is a relative monstrosity that's way more complicated than I'd like, but I really want to have a clean blend and ability to run drives in parallel, so I'm not sure how to simply it.

Downsized and sits on top of my amp.
Line Out/XLR has kind of a cab sim, Output to the amp does not. Exactly what I wanted.
Using the BB-1X as a Preamp/DI, not for Overdrive.

I think six pedals is still compact

I'm not entirely in love with the VFE Klein Bottle. The functionality is awesome but I guess I just don't like pedals that look like a space ship control panel.

I kinda want to replace the CE-2B with an H9. I don't use it much, and the H9 gives me tap tempo delays and various modulations with just one pedal.

And I love the sound of the Turbo Rat (especially in parallel with the B3K), but I'm an idiot and am fighting the urge to replace it with a mid '80s Rat even though I'm pretty sure the Turbo Rat is better for my needs.

Otherwise I think I'm all set hahaha

How are you using the Klein? Just for parallel loops? Looks like you have loop 1 feeding into both 2 and 3, but 2 and three are on their own.

I'm just stating to experiment with mine. I think it really shines when you leverage the feed into the other channels and back stuff. Sure, there are the parallel loops, but you can get something that runs parallel loops much cheaper. It is massive though and that kinda sucks.

I have an envelope filter (FX25) in Loop 1, and as you noticed that loop is in series with Loops 2 and 3. Loops 2 and 3 are in parallel with each other, and I have a B3K and Turbo Rat in those loops, respectively.

The FX25 kinda needs a dry blend and switcher, and I like the ability to run it in series with overdrive pedals coming after it. And I like the B3K and Turbo Rat together in parallel for times when I want to go really aggro: the bright-and-tight grunt of the B3K with the wall-of-distortion from the Rat.

And it's nice to use the EQ filters to keep the lows and highs out of the Turbo Rat: it keeps the distortion from making the lows flubby and the highs fizzy. Then the dry blend fills the sound out again.

I've not played with the idea of the feedback loops (sending Loop 1 into Loops 2 and 3 and then Loops 2 and 3 back to Loop 1). Guess I could try it one of these days. But for my esoteric needs, only the VFE seems to offer the feature set I want (one loop in series with two parallel loops). I'm not sure any other switcher pedal can do that.

I kinda would like to have the Turbo Rat modded for a clean blend (or buy a Fuzzrocious Cat Tail with a clean blend) so that I could have the B3K and it in a more simple parallel looper and stick the FX25 into a Boss LS-2 loop. That avoids all the complexities of the Klein Bottle, but it seems silly to do that when the Klein Bottle can handle all of it.

Still smaller than mine though...7 pedals, 1 wireless receiver + 1 One Control AB box (for when the wireless just won't work)...Still looking into replacing the reciever with the Boss WL-60, and adding a SansAmp Bass Driver and (possibly) a Dunlop Mini Cry Baby Mini to the board.

Shouldn't there be a "Not-So Compact" Pedal board forum? ;):D:laugh:

*EDIT* realized I put one too many "mini" in there....and I really don't care...just pointing out the obvious cuz I'm like that!
And going the other way, there are The NANO Club! the pedaltrain babies or equivalent!! and Post your 1590a (tiny pedals) pedalboard

How does that work? Are you saying I can link another power supply to the DC7 without plugging to the wall?

Yes I believe so. Similar to how the Strymon Ojai's can link to the Zuma's.

For me though I will never need more than the Eventide powermax (Cioks dc7) because I don't use massive pedal boards. The voltages are so highly capable on the powermax that you can link multiple pedals with one output.

On my little board in the photo the Tonehammer and Silver deluxe are both powered from the same output at 18v. The Doc Lloyd and HPF underneath powered from the same output at 9v, and the wireless on it's own at 15v.
