I actually love being at home but I'm not seeing the big deal of 2 people who are both being very careful getting together. I've edited my post to seem less 'flip' about it, but since you quoted me then there it is anyway. As fun as it sounds, I'm not technically set up well enough to do the real time online thing. This is something that would likely take me out big time if I were to catch it, so I'm certainly not taking it lightly.Sigh...I get it, it sucks to be home, but if you are going to break the rules and cruise around town unnecessarily, don't post about it. You may think it is no big deal, but the more that people cruise around thinking "what its no big deal, we are being safe" the longer this will last and the longer before the band can actually get back together. You need to go get groceries, or medicines, I get it (even that I don't get since all that can be delivered, but I digress)...but going from place to place for a "song smoothing session", interacting w people who may or may not be quarantining, you are just acting as an agent of spread. It isn't about you getting sick (though that's a real probability - and right about now is probably the absolute worse time in our lives to need a doctor), it's about who you can infect...and it's about looking out for your local healthcare workers putting their lives on the line to deal with this situation. I'd imagine that someone in Seattle would understand the situation being that you were the first hot spot in the country? Stop being so selfish, now is not the time to get together with friends in person, especially for such flippant BS as a "song smoothing session" - you realize that there will be NO gigs for months if not more than a year?
Check out Jamkazam, you can jam with your friends over the internet and not need to open doors and move equipment around...or do a "song smoothing session" over skype/zoom/facetime/even a phone call. Show some respect to your community and to the human race...sit still for a few weeks. Work on your solo material or your technique, but stop cruising around for such selfish reasons.
I hope everybody who's ordering things from home are tipping their delivery drivers very handsomely, as grocery store workers are the firefighters of 9/11. As a delivery person myself, that has not been my experience.
