Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Great board! You and I are covering a lot of the same ground-

HXS->Jive->ParaEQ->Empress Comp->ReVolt->Cab M->Signal splits(Side A goes to FOH/Side B goes to a Headrush FRFR 112. The Strymons are going thru the FX loop of the ReVolt. Everything is powered by a Cioks DC7.

Figured out that the Drive channel on the ReVolt actually makes a better clean channel than the Clean channel. Works out because the Drive channel doesn't quite get me where I was hoping it would. The actual Clean channel is fantastic, and the Dirt channel is very good also, but that Drive channel had me baffled until set it this way.;):D

Also the light in the Jive is BLINDING...:cool:
That board is beautiful and I am in owe of how tightly you packed it! By any chance have you compared the Jive to a Strymon Deco? I really dig my Empress -> Deco setup that i have now but it's a lot of real estate!

Thank you, kindly, sir! I lucked out with most of the pedals having top jacks for this board config.

I haven't compared the Jive and the Deco, but it would be very cool to hear that! Honestly, I didn't know I needed a saturator until I heard some vids with the Jive and it reminded me of what the Supro Tremolo pedal does. Then I found out the Jive was less than $140, and I figured what's one more bad financial decision. :D:laugh:

I did a little digging into the Deco. Holy Moly! What a great pedal! I've spent WAY too much money already this year, but I may need to give that some serious thought. I love Strymon, so it would fit right in. Thanks for the heads up...

Man, you've got a great board that covers what you need. Having said that, you should just give in and go BUY some MORE PEDALS! :D;):bassist:

The Lazy Freelancer/IEM-board v.1

I’ve been using the older version of the Fishman Platinum bass preamp when maximum laziness and/or having the least possible amount of gear were top priority. The Fishman is surprisingly good and packed with features (DI, eq, compression, hpf, phantom & battery power), but the eq sliders are little tricky to use and the overall sound can be slightly boring.

Although the board is bigger than the Fishman (and a lot more expensive), I now have all the essential features I usually need (comp, gain/saturation/color, hpf, eq, DI) in a relatively compact format. Separate pedals give much more control over the sound so it’s easier to dial in tones for different genres. Woop!

I don't have one but I always liked the Vong, and that Slampegg color is my favorite, much better than my blue on black.

Thats awesome! For the Interbass, are you using it to power cab or just as a pre? Curious , if using as a power amp, any performace issues using ths Cioks?
Have had about an hour at home with the Interbass powering a new-to-me Hartke HD112.

1. Great cab!
2. Interbass is killin.

granted I haven’t played out with it, but I’m blown away by how loud and full the Quilter gets without a large PSU. So odd basically running a pedalboard into a cab without a head!

Nice! Are you running the Quilter off of one output at 18v?

How small does a board have to be to "qualify" as a "Compact" pedalboard? Size? Number of Pedals?

Here is a mockup of a board that I think I am going to put together this weekend. I may want to add a Boss Volume pedal and I think just that one pedal puts it out of the "Compact" pedalboard category.

Still trying to decide if I want or need the Tone Hammer. I have a JDI and not sure I need anything on the Tone Hammer after the HXS.

I know that the HXS had built in tuner and compressor, but I am pretty sure that the Cali76 CB is a better compressor than anything built into the HXS and I the Peterson can be set to be always on with a buffer.

Ok, I was ready to put the SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe on my board but when I tested it the drive control made a strong, disturbing "crackle" as I hit the notes. It happens if I set either the amp at very low gain&master levels and/or the pedal with blend and level almost fully counter-clockwise. It's there and it doesn't sound normal. What do you think?
In this clip, amp gain and level are set at 9 o'clock, same with the pedal's level.
To clarify: the distortion you hear when I hit the note is not due to my phone's mic, it's the actual crackle coming from the pedal. Bass is a passive American Standard P bass.

Current board now featuring the Jad Freer Capo, so impressed with the sound out of it. Even fully bypassed as a pure DI it sounds noticably better than my Radial ProDI but the amount of versatility is incredible.

I just got hipped to the Jad Freer Capo. What I've heard sounds insanely good. How are you getting along with it compared to whatever you were using before?

It's great, even bypassed the DI tone is great. Its one of the most versatile pedals I've ever tried, everything from mellow cleans to heavy drive. Barely touched the surface yet with it though.

Previously i was running into my GK Fusion S and using the DI from that into Logic at home. Haven't had chance to use it at rehearsal yet, it'll be running into a Marshall VBA400. Going to experiment with running it in to the FX return etc and get a feel for it without the VBA400 colouring the tone.

....a minimalist package I assembled this week using a semi-soft travel pack ......a cheapo Amazon zip pouch designed for packing electronic accessories.....I ripped out the innards. It's 6x9" on the outside and houses a few boxes that I power with a 3-plug expander from a 1A wall wart....the whole shebang fits in my gig bag pocket and it's a snap to swap items in/out. It sits neatly on top of a Magellan 350 or Quilter head.
