Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Oooh, how do you like the cloudburst?
Keeping it! I haven’t spent much time with the ensemble side of the pedal yet. The ‘off’ (or more standard) verb setting needed to be usable for me….and it is! Verb flavor subtleties happen with minimal knob adjustments.

I’m finding the updated processing extremely quiet/clear…really noticeable/superior when I tried it in a preamp effects loop on another pb (vs other verbs in the same chain setting)

Pedal’s for sure got Strymon dna (I’ve owned Big Sky, Blue Sky v1/v2) but this new algorithm is definitely in it’s own lane.

Nice, I was thinking of buying an Afterneath for the 6th time when I saw the Cloudburst demos and thought it sounded cool on guitar. Cool to get a good review of it on bass!

Current board now featuring the Jad Freer Capo, so impressed with the sound out of it. Even fully bypassed as a pure DI it sounds noticably better than my Radial ProDI but the amount of versatility is incredible.

Looking at getting the Jad Freer Capo. Wondering how it compares to the Darkglass BK7. The main reason I want the Jad Freer Capo is the overdrive section. Would you say the overdrive section can get dirty enough to hear in a band situation? Thanks

I had the first proper use of my mk4 compact pedal board at a gig tonight. Much like my previous one, with an 18v lithium power tool battery feeding a generic power distribution box. All housed in a little flight case.

I was trying out the Boss GE-7, but it doesn't stop feedback as well as turning down the 50Hz band on the bass-specific GEB-7.

I really appreciate the DIY nature of this board. Not sure that tremolo is an effect I would ever use on bass personally, but if it makes you happy, then rock it out hard :)

I assume you'll be going back to a GEB-7, then? Those EQ notches on the GE don't look to be ideally selected for bass, though I'm sure it could still be utilized to good effect

I've yet to try it at practice or gigs but have no doubts. If it helps I quickly put this together for someone in another forum:
Jad - Drive - Examples

No time was spent dialling stuff in, i just twiddled some knobs between each. Barely touched the eq except to give a 500hz scoop on the later ones.

Yes, going back to GEB-7 - I actually did it in the interval, scavenging the GEB-7 from my other pedalboard. I had the GE-7 from playing viola through an amp, but I don't do that anymore. I was hoping the GE-7 would be "good enough" for bass, but it will get sold and funds used to buy another GEB-7.

Tremolo - I've not actually used it on bass, I play mandocello as well and love the 1950s sound it gives.

I've been really enjoying my amp tone more than usual (bought a Terror Bass last year and had a few more gigs and practices the last couple of months to get used to it), and decided to cut down to a compact board for the couple of effects I've ended up using live rather than carrying around a bigger board.

- Pedaltrain Nano+, TU3, Iso Brick Mini (using for ease of power supplies etc, because that's what's on my main board as well)
- Fuzzrocious custom pedal: Cat Tail w/ 2nd drive footswitch & blend knob, and Afterlife reverb
- OBNE Visitor, set to tremolo, with a touch of chorus on the secondary modulation. Go back & forth between that and phaser w/ secondary term

This should feasibly be plenty for me gigging, more than enough for practice, and only need to swap out two pedals to get my main board back to full strength if I need it.

Only downside so far is the bag it comes with is probably not hardy enough to throw in the back of the van, but if this works out I'll get a flight case for it anyway.

Thrilled! with this PedalPad board I received. Its the smallest model they make 14x8. There is enough room inside to put the exteranl IEC cable and the small cable that runs to my amp. Power on right. Input and output jacks on the left. Never have to touch a pedal connection when setting up. I put the gaffers tape around the socket to play it safe.

This feels compact to me, tho I'm it may not look like it? Both boards are connected via fuzz, Maestro to Sub Machine.

I learned a few things in this setup: I need to run a daisy chain from the Korg tuner to free up some power slots for a boost (Phat Phuk B or Xotic RC), a tremolo (Hummingbird), and maaaaaaaybe the EHX Bass Microsynth.

Signal chain is right to left on both, and then Echo Puss to Analog Alien.

The small board is so sexy.

Thanks and I agree! Think if I went Nano Max instead of plus, I could fit filter, phaser, delay. I keep an evolving list called "Let's Be Honest" of 7-8 pedals that could cover just about everything. Nano Max plus those just miiiiiiiiiight do it.

Also, I don't like two tiered boards. The other one has the Analog Alien and HPF as always on, so I'm only tap dancing on the bottom rows.
