Show me your compact pedalboard setup

A few years ago, I decided that the largest pedalboard I was willing to use for the foreseeable future would need to fit inside an airline underseat "personal item" flight tote, and I decided that would be no larger than 390 mm x 290 mm, or about 15 3/8" x 11.5 ".

I also go by this line of thinking; I do occasionally have to fly out with my board for things, so want it to be able to come with me under the seat. To that end, I've got a PT Metro 16 (8" x 16") which is the absolute maximum sized board I can get away with.

Enforcing a size limit is important for me, because I know I'd eventually just convince myself to get a *slightly* larger board far too frequently :spam:

Updated - I’m getting a great variety of sounds out of the 6 preset spaces available on the C4!

It absolutely amazes me that apparently none of the manufacturers of pedalboards and luggage are thinking about these issues. If you take an instrument as cabin baggage, that counts as your one allowable piece of cabin baggage, so you are otherwise limited to a "personal item" that has to be able to fit under the seat.

So, if you want to pull off a fly gig without checking baggage, then your pedalboard and everything else you need has to fit in a fight tote. It's doable for a weekend, but there are no pedalboards currently on the market that size. If only a company like Mono would produce a flat board with a matching case that could take the board plus leave room for a change of clothes, personal electronics, and toiletries, I'd buy it, especially if I could get it in a matching set with a flight-worthy gig bag.

The Boss BCB-1000 is a standard rollaboard suitcase size, but then you can't bring your instrument, so either you check your instrument or you check your pedalboard. If I'm flying with my gear, I don't want to check anything but clothing. I want my instrument and pedalboard in the cabin.

If you're willing to re-stick/ connect a couple/few of your pedals upon arrival, a D'Addario XPND single row board telescopes down to 13.75" long and can "pop" to a max length of 24.75". That oughtta work. The double row goes from 17.5" to 31.75" . Sliding 'em back & forth requires no tools and takes about 3 seconds once the pedals are off, and only those pedals beyond 13.75 (or whatever length will fit under the seat) would have to come off for travel. I have single row version and like it, other than the fact that real estate underneath for the PS is tight.

Replaced my B7K Ultra and the Cali Compact Bass for a BassRig Super Vintage and the Empress Compressor. Decided to treat myself as I just got promoted in my workplace.

Also, I took the advice of a fellow Tber here, the OC-2 preset I found for my C4 is really good and decided to let go of my OC-2.

Going for a blue and industrial themed board. Compact setup for life!

Attached a quickie demoe here.

First, congrats on the promo!

Second, I thought you would like the OC-2 preset :)

Third, really clean board!

Thanks so much man! I remember you were the one who recommended that OC-2 Preset to me. I keep forgetting the C4 has knobs, sometimes, I just click and try out the presets I forget I can tweak the knobs too lol. Also got the chance to rename presets in my DMC Micro so it's easier for me to pan between presets I've saved. Cheers!

Great sound. Throaty, full, cutting but not too aggressive. Nice one!

Yep! Great OC-2 sound and much more tweakable than an OC-2
