Show me your compact pedalboard setup

My bass board's final form. The reality... if I want to make weird noises, I like picking up my guitar more at this point. I still play more bass than guitar out in the world, but this covers everything I need, all on a regular ol' nano. (Downsized from Metro 20)

Thoughts:
  • My amp has a good enough compressor (and, any time I'm using drive, there's some natural compression).
  • The VMT covers most flavors of classic stuff.
  • The Alpha Omega gets me most flavors of aggressive distortion into (almost) fuzz.
  • The Bass Chorus Deluxe gives a little bit of movement.
And, I really don't miss all of the other crazy things.

Had a first rehearsal with this new Metro 16 setup last night, and the Cali76CB is wonderful. I had more definition on the front of notes without being loud.

Signal goes P-Bass with TI Flats > tuner > Cali > Fifth Gear > MERBL with the Doom in the fx loop > Oracle > PA. We're ampless and this is the best tone I've had yet. A more complete board would have my Octabvre and Whirlwind Phaser and maybe something else, but dirt and an envelope cover my main gig, with the fuzz in the filter's loop for Moog fun.

that sir is tasty! the cali76 and arkham oracle combination is glorious! Cheers!

I put this simple board together if-and-when there is chance I do some sort of live perfomance.
The Boss is not only a tuner but it also is a buffer and a signal mute when plugging or unplugging my bass. The Broughton is an HP/LP pedal. I went with this because the FOH would add compression if needed.
The MXR acts more as a straight DI instead of a preamp. It can handle both passive & active basses.
This board can be powered by either a Walwart or battery. And it all fits into a heavy-duty carrying case I just got.

Replaced my B7K Ultra and the Cali Compact Bass for a BassRig Super Vintage and the Empress Compressor. Decided to treat myself as I just got promoted in my workplace.

Also, I took the advice of a fellow Tber here, the OC-2 preset I found for my C4 is really good and decided to let go of my OC-2.

Going for a blue and industrial themed board. Compact setup for life!

Attached a quickie demoe here.

I'm a little new to bass distortion. I really enjoyed what I've heard thus far of Darkglass stuff, especially the Vintage Microtubes flavor. Does the Bassrig have you missing that Darkglass sound?

Speaking only for myself, I’d absolutely take a Bassrig over any Darkglass offering.

Can you elaborate as to why? The reviews for the BassRigs seem pretty positive overall.

(I understand that their guitar pedals sound great as I already have and love the Deluxe61 pedal).
Overall quality of sound, responsiveness, and design. The Bassrigs really do sound and feel like amps, whereas the Darkglass stuff is decidedly distortion effects (with highly baked-in EQ curves). The Bassrigs especially shine via the DI with the extra juice the cabsimming provides, but are still totally excellent as a preamp or dirt into an amp.

And I say all this as someone who plays a Dingwall, so I’m already pre-disposed (by stereotype) to dig the Darkglass stuff.

My compact afford-a-board. I beta test for Caline so all the pedals and PSU were free to me. Half the pedal chain is for acoustic guitar and bass, the other just for electric bass.

Years ago I went with a simple dual footswitch to a Lexicon MX200 that handles all my effects now. After some drunk chick spilt Bud Light all over my thrn $400 Digitech workstation pedal (that I cleaned and got working again) I never looked back at large pedal board. A $40 footswitch is far easier/cheaper to replace.

Nice. Simple and sweet.
MXR stuff doesn't get enough credit, if only they rocked top jacks... but that preamp is so clean and transparent perfect for letting the tone of your bass shine. Their Bass Distortion, Analog Chorus, and Studio Comp are all top notch as well.
Yes. I like the MXR because it can handle passive & active basses as well as 48v phantom power consoles. I don't have to worry about switching between passive or active DIs.

Really love the breakup point of the Super vintage. It sounds like an authentic tube for me while the baked in distortion of the B7k sounded good for me for a time. Love the Ampeg SVT, even in my B7K Ultra, I loaded the ampeg SVT IR from shiftline and doesn't come close to the Super Vintage. I gues I just changed priorities and my taste in tone is leaning back to more vintage tones in which I've found in the Bassrig. The first time I tried it from my friend's rig, I knew I had to get it. Borrowed it overnight, next thing, I ordered my own.

Also, cabsim can be engaged even when the pedal is off via the fx+bypass switch, but you need to use the DI out.

This, despite being 16" x 8", cannot really get more compact in terms of organization. You'll note there's a space vacant; I pre-ordered something which will arrive in September, but I re-wired and re-ordered the board a couple weeks ago (wanted to move the Sushi Box nearer to the end of the chain, among other things), and while I was at it, figured it'd be best to sort the wiring/power out for the new arrival early. That way I can just drop it in once it arrives. It's also a 125B enclosure, so it should *just* about fit in the gap! And I only got my Subterranea back from IE headquarters yesterday (it needed a repair, and slight mod), so thought it was time for an updated family photo, now that the gang is reunited :)
