Show me your compact pedalboard setup

IMG_2398.jpeg

Mounted to a Pedaltrain Metro 16 and travels in a Pedaltrain hard case. I’m pretty happy with the reduced pedalboard size.

The one thing that might change is the tuner. I (for some reason) thought the Polytune was always-on display. I might go back to Peterson for that reason. Also, the color scheme would match again. :D

Pretty sure you can toggle to have it always on.

Strobostomp Mini maybe?

ive been enjoying this mini board in the center for the past days and cant wait to bring it out this weekend’s jam. set in a pedaltrain nano it fits in a mono bag pocket. so for smaller gigs, 2 basses on a dual mono bag w/ cables and pedlaboard in the pockets then just the DG cab and mesa head, it is good to go. on bigger venuew well… thats another story.

Are you using the Empress before the HX or in the loop?

I am currently using it first in the chain before the Stomp. The Stomp is primarily giving me EQ and a little room ambience. I also mix some delay/verb type stuff with the expression when needed, or have it set to a volume pedal, or have it set to bring up the mids to get extra mwah (since this board is sort of specific to a fretless thing I’m doing with a friend).

I’ve been very happy with it and the placement but I can’t deny that I’m kinda keen on that new UA Max dual-comp/console pre kinda thing.

Very impressed with the SA EQ2, it's my tuner + cab sim + eq + aux in + mute switch for now.
Aux in and mute, that's clever. EQ2 is an essential box for me these days.

I don't know if this counts as "compact", but I just downsized my board by 50% in size, and to only 10% of the complexity, to a Holeyboard, which I'm really happy with. In the cull that happened (I deemed the following non-essential personnel, to be called upon when the situation calls for it: Quartermaster QMX8, Custom Saturn loop-reverse-order switcher/buffer/tuner out/mute, Noble, Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk B, Strymon Dig v2, Super 300, StroboStomp HD replaced by a Turbo Tuner Mini), I realized that the only two pedals that MUST be on when I plug in the power are the EQ2 and Empress Bass Comp. That's basically my tone.

That leaves a Zelzah doing phaser/flanger/chorus duties in one pedal (and brilliantly IMHO), 3Leaf Proton, Octabvre and a Jam Lucydreamer.

The smaller and very flexible Jad Freer Capo will take over preamp and DI duties, pic of board when it arrives.

Did another fun trade - wanted to offload the Aguilar Storm King for something more drive-y. Tried a bunch of stuff out, and this little gum-wrapper lookin’ dude cleaned everyone else’s clock! (Lowest price by far, not for nothin.)
The Little Brute is not subtle! Much like the Zvex fuzz. And the Deep Phase is the absolute shiz. I’m gonna add a chorus and a compressor.
