Show me your compact pedalboard setup

My board often sits on my desk so decided to integrate micro amp into it. 1/4 inch lead from back of the amp connecting to my cab the other side of the room, easy peasy

Tomorrow's jam board. Apologies to @sloppy_phil for yet another iteration! Jajja

The big change here is that I'm taking a four string, so I swapped out the Cali for the Diamond. Northeast US weather changes and a microclimate-filled apartment have wrecked havoc on my setups, so I'll have to check how the four sounds tomorrow. If there's some clank north of the 12 fret, I might switch basses at the last minute.

The Subsonic (love the tones here) might be switched for the MXR VBO to make some space for modulation/delay down the line. The Pork side of the P&P sounds phenomenal with a pbass. A minor annoyance is that my pancake patch cables don't fit the Diamond because the power jack is directly between the I/Os, not slightly higher as in other pedals. So the cables to/from it are chunky and inconvenient.

The Mozztronics unit is their DI-2, an SVT-style tube preamp/DI. I won't use the DI at rehearsal, but instead will go through the front of the rehearsal space amp. Fantastic clean tones, can get dirty too, massive low end as well. A great piece of kit! The routing goes right to left until RC -> Mozz -> HLPF. The Saturnworks is a headphone amp, for home practice.

Always on:
Diamond
RC
Mozz
HLPF

Looks like another fun combo, my good man! Don’t worry, I can handle the flux ;)

Have you considered Ernie Ball, Tour Gear, or EBS cables instead of the pancakes? They are definitely a smaller profile overall and more friendly for tight spaces

The larger Rockboard pushes the compact category, the medium doesn't but even that is overkill for rehearsals and open mics.

Don't want to be That Guy at an open mic taking up space or time tweaking during setup.

This cheap addition I got from Amazon today, Ghost or Ghostboard, something like that is perfect for those situations. The case is not bad either.

Love the Rockboards, this new truly compact board can also house a CIOKS7 and can take 5 top-mounted jack pedals. I would have been happy with 4.

Unsolicited Commentary...

When I really started exploring pedal functions, utility and versatility. An experience that began almost from the start of playing Bass, but went by the wayside almost immediately and for many years. I have been through what I would consider to be a copious number of pedals, multi effects and several rack units over time. Obtaining, evaluating and using in a buy, sell, trade continuum that really kicked into gear about eight years ago. In all of that time and all of those units. Be it a tiny tube pre, compression and buffer sitting on a small pedalboard riser to a midsized Mono board with stuff on top and in the basement. I have NEVER had more than one Pedalboard in all these years.

Odd... :bassist:

Just waiting for the custom controller for the L6 HX One and not expecting to make any changes soon. It is powered by a Strymon Ojai R30 I found for $50.00

*I'm running in 4 cable mode with Modulation, Delay & Reverb in the amp effects loop. The Bass TightFuzzz allows me to put the other drives, EQ & other stuff in a pre EFX loop then to the DI. The HX One ($130.00) is really the answer to having a compact yet infinitely expandable tool that actually sounds amazing. Is EVERYTHING off the chart? No, but it does so many unique things well that it makes sense to have it over other units IMHO.

Compact? Not sure with a Metro 20. The red one is the MERBL, a copy of the Lovetone Meatball filter. The blue one doesn't have a name yet, and is a copy of the Lovetone Doppelganger phaser. My wife made them, and they're as lovely as she is.

Signal goes OC-2, Alma, Fifth Gear, phaser, MERBL, tuner, Oracle, and then to a Mesa WD800 and Subway 115 at home playing with my wife, or direct from the Oracle to the PA when I'm playing with the cover band.

Been using the OC-2 a ton lately, and the drive the least, surprisingly, so my layout probably looks weird.

Is that your Alma settings for live? Are you sending a hotter active bass into it?
