yes it is sir. there is a bit overhang but that mini board is just my fun board that i change often and just used to do pedal dives, tonequest and experimentation and not my main gig board. so itll in change again once new pedals come in or prepping for rotation in the main bigger board. This is my main board. The noble,cali76,Chromatron are the main stays of this board all the other rotates but the Sentinel and VC abd Humbolt has overstayed lately as they sound great in this rig . The Empress, Darkglass, SansAmp board is my metal rig, little bit scooped mids for clinical/sterile sound. The Empress is very good in upper register compared to Cali76 (Cali is round, fat with more body and low mids) and that is a good pusher for my Darkglass distorsion (distorsion is set with the high-pass filter to act only above 1khz). The SansAmp is scooped and hollow compared to Origin Super Vintage, very punchy, but with less body. This type of factors are good for achieving a clinical nu-metal/djent sound.
The Origin rig is my main pedalboard, more mid focused with fuller sound. Overall, a better sound for more aplications (funk, classical rock, R&B etc.).

I don’t really understand the appeal of the Noble preamp… why even use tubes if you aren’t trying to clip/distort them? Am I missing something? It has no cab sim? So it can only be used for clean tones…?

I think part of this is because it's the flavor of the week. BUT, the vast majority find the sound the Noble produces to be better than other tube preamp/DIs. The Noble also has a selling point that few others have--the ability to power other pedals from its internal power supply. It has an excellent build quality, and I have never heard of anyone having an issue with it. That speaks to craftmanship and quality of internal parts.

I bought the Noble and had it for at least a year (a couple of years ago). I sold it to fund other preamps. I settled in on the Arkham, which sounds on par (if not better) than the Noble and it has more EQ options.

Check into Talkbass 5-10 years from now and I bet you the flavor of the week will have changed.

I still think more people should give the Tech 21 Q/Strip a chance. It’s basically a channel from an old school Neve mixing desk. I see it on surprisingly few pedalboards.

I've tried that...It has a "twang" in the upper frequencies that I could not stand. The only other preamp that I loved outside of tube preamps is the Mesa Subway Plus (discontinued).

Same reason I love the Broughton SSDI - the warmth of a high-quality clean tube tone is a lovely thing. I have no interest in tube dirt.
