For me, it works brilliantly. I shoot for <5dB gain reduction with the attack @10 o’clock & release @2 o’clock. Feels great, lightly colors the sound and gives a lovely even response across the frequency of the instrument. Highly recommend! How you liking the WA comp?
That’s a neat board. How does the Mother compare to other preamps you may have? Like, compared to the Colour Box.I find that thing to be extraordinary.
I have one, and it's great. Lineage with Hiwatt, very amp like. The EQ makes it really flexible with the 3 band + absence (an inverted presence) along with the depth that controls the amount of low end going into the preamp. It adds a lot of subtle sparkle and stacks great. That’s a neat board. How does the Mother compare to other preamps you may have? Like, compared to the Colour Box.

All very nicely put together, but I have to ask.... for what purpose do you require five boards? That feels like a lot to me. I can barely justify having two, so I really am curious how one goes about using all of these! This picture kinda marks the end to my little pedal project, creating some functional boards with specific functions from ‘spare’ pedals I had floating around…(plus a couple of purchases). A few bits shifted around since my last post about them.
There’s a couple of bits that might get swapped out perhaps, the Radial is borrowed for example, and I’d love to swap the Green Russian DIY pedal out (as good as it is) if I find my old Grey Stache to buy back….but yeah, nice little collection of 5 (compact) pedalboards for me to pick from!

How would you say these two pedals compare to one another? I like the idea of a small envelope filter. What do you like better about the Donner?Donner Dynamic Wah on in place of the Mooer Envelope filter.
The controls on the Donner I like better. It has both sensitivity and range which I find much easier to dial in, and less is definitely more if you look where I have them set. I read a "review" of someone that had purchased this pedal and said there was almost no quack from the pedal. If you dial the range and sensitivity right up it sounds like it is doing nothing because it is trough the range of the "wah" in an instant. How would you say these two pedals compare to one another? Thanks! That's helpful to hear. That mini pedalboard of yours is pretty impressive! The controls on the Donner I like better. I was really happy with the Mooer also and I still have it. I initially got the Donner (Isaw one cheap) as I thought the Mooer was distorting, but it was the quack of the envelope pushing the Fairfield Modele B I have on my board into saturation momentarily when playing slap.
Have you tried the Calamity>Subsonic?Similar but different...... Origin Effects and Broughton 18" Mono Lite+ rig....
