Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Built a new one—too boutique? I thiiiink this qualifies as a compact pedalboard; although the Beebo is Tardis-like in expanding a compact pedalboard into a massive setup. Nice thing is that between the Beebo and the Graviton M2, this is one multieffects/MIDI setup that never needs to be hooked up to a computer to program.

I do realize that just regular non-multieffects pedalboards could make that exact same boast.

How is the Beebo on bass? It's one I've been curious about lately, but haven't found much on it for bass.

I like it a lot—I hadn’t had it on my board for a while because of the limited footswitch control but I’ve been rediscovering it since getting the touch-screen MIDI pedal. It’s fairly quick and easy to set up if you’re only using it for simple things. Some simple things I’m loving right now: the compressor just works but also has pretty good controls for tweaking even more. The HPF is really sensitive and effective. The simple Boss-style chorus is super lush and doesn’t suck low end out of your signal on bass. The EQ is SO GOOD—you visually adjust the frequency points, Q, and shelving db… it’s really powerful. In fact I’ve changed my amp controls to flat and am relying on the Beebo EQ instead, so that I can do the same to a backline amp and not worry about my sound being too different from venue to venue. Right now I love the way I sound through it.

It’s got a bass amp emulator that’s an SVT copy, but I’m not an SVT fan so I’d only use it under duress. It now does NAM (light) profiles and Loki added a couple more bass amps, but even the light ones eat so much CPU that I haven’t found using them to be worthwhile. You can load your own purchased or created IRs. Overall, most modules just sound amazing and the fact that you can use it as a Eurorack means you can build things it doesn’t have—like I’m getting pretty close to building an onboard replacement for my Acoustic Image amp. You have ultimate control over your sound.

Cons include the fact that there’s no real dirt module, unless you use one of the guitar amps maybe (I guess the SVT model probably has it too). Or if you’re really good at tweaking multiple VCAs you might be able to build an overdrive through creative gainstaging. Right now I’ve actually tweaked a bit mangler to not be too aggressive, it’s good enough for the one song I use it on. It would be nice to be able to control EVERYTHING via MIDI, but it’s sort of limited—you can adjust anything that has a slider over MIDI, but you can’t turn a module on or off that way. You might be able to turn an effect off via a CV module, or Sum or something, but I haven’t been super successful there.

The con with having ultimate control is that you have ultimate control—you both have to understand all the Eurorack stuff to really get deep, and have the time to tinker.

I'm always curious about new (to me) effects processors. Found this info on the web about the Beebo.. Not so much on bass, but great overall info.. my board is on this thread somewhere!!!!

But Ive been using the Source Audio C4 to get my syntish bass tones.

Beebo question

Very good answer.

So the Punchline, by itself, sounds great.

But…I “had” to improvise. :)

The Night Owl Edison & SexDrive provided some boost capabilities (IMHO). However, my SexDrive pedal started glitching on me.

So the Studio Boost Mini came though!

I’m looking forward to trying this board out in the wild!

My small (only) pedalboard has stayed the same for the last 2 months. Adding a new dedicated comp soon, but the HX One does the trick for now.View attachment 7076355
Iv been using a 2notes 'Volt Bass for months. I love it . I could only imagine adding an opus, for a "valve Output stage", and IR boxes. (I just use the inbuilt di, its good, but not great) U have a brilliant little set up.i went through 3 compressors before settling on Origin compact bass, (old model) it really helps to make channel 1 and 2, more believable (ampeg, Marshall)

I’m waiting for a Warm Pedal76 comp to pop up in the classifieds.

Two boards right now. Picked up a small 15” board for a new mini board. Gonna spend some time getting this one ready. Haven’t really had time to dive in.

Have my normal nano+ board I use all the time that has only had minor changes.

The plan is to be able to, when I’m ready, put the stomp on the regular board at times with the Finally, VMT, Cali, and Strobo.

And sub other stuff back and forth. In a good spot so keep the gas to yourself.
Hi! i had same configuration right now, infinity plus hx, i found the b3k soo so noisy... i have the noise gate on both but...

I took apart and rebuilt my main pedal board this week. I’ve been experimenting with gain staging and layering, and wanted to try something new. Also I recently got the Universal Audio LA-2A compressor, and I really like it, and that changes the gain structure throughout the chain. This is probably borderline “compact” but what the hell.

The signal chain is as follows: tuner > LA-2A > MXR Vintage Octave > Big Muff (set for pretty strong fuzz) > Blumes (set for distorted overdrive) > Flanger > Chorus > Hagerman Valve (set around 9:00) > SGT-DI (using the B-15 voice with gain low on the SGT circuit, no cab sim) > amp (Fender Rumble 15) or computer interface. Everything is on a Temple DUO 24, with a Cioks DC-7 underneath.

The top row (Valve, SGT, and LA-2A) is always on, so I don’t need to tap dance. Everything else is within reach.

That looks amazing. How are you liking the Blumes? Had my eye on one of those for a while.
