Show me your compact pedalboard setup

View attachment 7153422

I tried going back to digital again. I really did. It’s just not the same sound (for me).

I sold off most of my pedals (minus the Noble and the Strobostomp). I repurchased a DCX and an older Cali 76 here on TB. I saw the Bass War for a good price and decided “why not?!”

That fuzz pedal came in handy! This picture is from a gig on Friday on Orange Beach. Our lead guitarist’s wife came up and sang a couple. One of which was “Pony” by Ginuwine. Our lead singer got off of the stage to take a break so we lost rhythm guitar. I added a bit of fuzz and I thought it sounded great!

I am still entertaining the idea of finding a replacement for the Noble. I absolutely love the sound, but I am so paranoid about it. Maybe buy a second as a backup? Not sure what to do there.
Let me help you on the Noble problem...

If it's just a question of do it or don't...DO IT! :cigar:

"Maybe buy a second as a backup?" This is ALWAYS the TB answer :)

In all seriousness, it would be a decent option if you love the Noble. Order a second one at it's normal price. Have piece of mind knowing you have one coming if anything goes south with the one you have. If for some reason an accident happens, you can just pay the difference and get the one on order delivered faster. Not a terrible plan. An expensive plan, but TB isn't know to save bass players money!

What about a Noble clone as a backup?

I totally know what you mean about wanting a backup. I had to send mine back to Jack for a repair - not because of any fault with the Noble, just a house with negligent wiring. I thought "whatever, this will be an exercise in zen gigging without it", but losing your DI, pedal power, and main tonestack really blows, and the Noble was sorely missed.

As others have said, you can pick up a Neptunium for a backup. Drops are rolling as units are finished, so check back frequently and you'll hopefully be able to snag one.

As for the paranoia - I don't know what variety you have, but this post of mine sums up my feelings and experience with the Noble's readiness for duty.

I'm always struggling with my interest in pedals and me not wanting to take a big pedalboard... I am very happy with this new pedalboard because it covers all of the projects I play in.

The layout might be a little weird, but I think it is the best I could make.

Line 6 Relay G10s-->Boss TU-3w-->HX Stomp-->Walrus Canvas DI. All powered by Cioks Sol.

I wanted to put the tuner on the left because I always fear that the wireless go crazy (never happened, but better be ready) so I can plug a cable straight to the tuner. I use an external tuner, even though I really like the tuner in the HX, just because I like to have a pedal that mutes not being the HX (in case something happens to the HX). I could have bought a cheaper tuner, but I like the Boss's switch I have to say.

I will include my Disaster Area Midi Baby 3 when I need to switch presets or when I need more footswitches. I will just turn the DI 45 degrees and put the Baby 3. The board is a D'addario XPND so no problem.

I have no problem with the G10sII. However, I got a Fender Telepath that works incredibly good and it works in 5.8 Hz instead of 2.4Hz. I prefer the format of the G10s, but it takes some room. In the future I will probably switch to the famous Shure, so that I can replace also the tuner, but so far so good.

It’s good, but a heads up if you’re thinking of getting one - the power jack is on the left side, not the top, thus that little space between it and the compressor. Pretty inconvenient design choice.

It is unfortunate. Really a Polytune Mini, even with side jacks, can take up as little space or less because most of the time it is the first pedal all the way to the right and you don't have to worry about the right side input jack for space. The saving grace for the Strobo Mini is being able to use the USB power. When I need the space, I just plug up the USB to a battery power pack I have under the board for such things.

Mantic is great for Rage Against the Machine tunes like bomb track, or set it up to be an earth shaking signal obliterating sub. It's just as valuable to me, especially when tuning the trim pots to lessen the 30 and 60hrz and using the Hulk to thicken up everything, even the 3leaf! Double subs are fun!
I was searching the forums here to ask about using my Hulk pedal and came across your post. I was given a Hulk and really don’t know what to do with it.
So I also watched a video that showed me the 30&60 Hz pots inside. What are they and what does one do with them? Here’s where mine are set.

I’ve only messed with this pedal at home and it sounds….weird. Like the effect is too low and it seems quieter…or like it’s going to blow my amp (GK MB112). Are these things mainly just for blowing out windows at a bar or club?
