Admittedly I haven't played a GK amp since the 90s, but in my mind, this pedal nails it... or at least comes close enough. I rarely go full rails,, but I do like a little bit of solid state growl. A nice piece of kit. That 800rb has been on my curiosity list for a while. Never played a GK but many of my favorites did.
Got one the day I've left for holidays, so just a quick go with it. Full rails sounded great, seems to have quite a tonal range in it. Cannot compare to the amp but I guess I like it a lot. In 3 weeks I can dive deeper into it... I'd recommend getting one. Shouldn't be hard to flip if you don't like it. Which I doubtThat 800rb has been on my curiosity list for a while. In your opinion, does this Dicosimo add character to your tone? Is it more than just an EQ and overdrive?Admittedly I haven't played a GK amp since the 90s, but in my mind, this pedal nails it... or at least comes close enough. It IS NOT an overdrive. It has that tube amp-like push which is typical for the 800RB amp.In your opinion, does this Dicosimo add character to your tone? Is it more than just an EQ and overdrive?
What @gillento said. It does GK character very well. It can also be dialed back and be kind of plain, for lack of a better word, but I'm guessing most GK usrs aren't looking for plain. It adds some nice girth with the boost enabled, and IMO pairs nicely with an EQ pedal. In your opinion, does this Dicosimo add character to your tone? Is it more than just an EQ and overdrive?
I've read some negative reviews of the MXR Bass Synth pedal. What are your impressions?
How does the BassRig behave when fed sub lows from the Bass Synth? Is it overwhelmed and overly distorted? Fart out?
The bassrig doesn’t have any issues, but if you slam it you are just feeding it more gain so it will distort just like any amp. I try to keep everything at unity gain in my chain whether it’s on of off.How does the BassRig behave when fed sub lows from the Bass Synth? Is it overwhelmed and overly distorted? Fart out?
Well it kicked the future impact4 off my board, even though the fi4 is more powerful. Mainly because I was able to quickly create a useable straight chorus patch and a straight wah filter patch along with several nice synth sounds, which helps with such a small board.I've read some negative reviews of the MXR Bass Synth pedal. Seemed to me that my OC-2 type device in front of the Bassrig worked well. However, the EHX POG, which created a lot more low frequency sub octave content, drove the Bassrig crazy even at unity gain. With the MXR Bass Synth being more like the POG in the -1 octave I wondered how it would behave. The bassrig changes the synth sounds just like a bass amp and cab and can sound strange so I just switch it off.
