Show me your compact pedalboard setup

I regard the E.Filter as an instrument, one has to learn how to play.
It lacks a sensitivity pot. So it is not that easy to predict when it starts sweeping. Once it does, it is quite versatile, sometimes a little subtle. A volume pedal before is good. A hard fuzz infront and the filter will close five minutes later...
Allways on it filters the hiss of an organizer, for example.
It has character.

Filterwise I favour the MF-101 or an old moded russian bassballs. Except for their size...
;)

Cool, I'm definitely gonna check one out. Love them filters.

Edit: I've always regarded certain filters as instruments, fo sho.

I've kinda realized that when I need effects they are important but when I don't need em they are just heavy. My board is expandable from a single (10") to a triple (30").

I keep the essentials on the small board. Volume, compressor, pre and tuner and all of the more extreme effects on the big board. I have the big board plugging in between the compressor and the volume. With the small board in stand alone you just throw a jumper from send to return. Pretty versatile I think and micro when it needs to be.

Current iteration: Grey Stache > Marshall Jackhammer > Blackeye Palmetto Boost > Polytope > Nimbus > Pitchblack.

I'm in the process of having a "shootout" to firm up the overdrive section, with the Palmetto Boost and my ancient Jackhammer currently leading the way... but the Vintage Microtubes and possibly some other challengers are coming.

Hey how does the jackhammer compare to the guv'nor?? I have a guv'nor plus and I dig it quite a bit. It's great for some extremely warm yet thick and crunchy dist.

I haven't tried the Guv'nor but generally I believe the Jackhammer has more gain, a different EQ section, and an option for switching between OD and distortion. However, I only ever use the OD setting with the gain around 1/4 to 1/3 -- heavy, plenty of lows, and somewhere halfway between warm and grindy.

Cool. I'd like to try that thing. I'll have so check it on YouTube er somethin.

Updated my board thought I'd share!

All cables are lava cable solderless

Bass (G&L Jazz Tribute) -> TU3 -> JHS limeaid compressor -> dark glass microtubes -> mk 4.23 clean boost -> Morley mini volume -> Muza fd900 -> out to amp (markbass tube 800)

Also on the board is my Rolls PM55 for my in ear monitors (I use westone um2s)

And my air turn Bluetooth controller for my iPad (I use the Onsong app for chord charts and an iKlip to mount the iPad)

Airturn = WIN. Use it with ForScore for all my charts. Don't have mine mounted on my board though.

I gotta get me some of those lava cables. How much you pay and where you get em?

I've been thinking about Lava lately too, now that my Mini is done. They just introduced Lava CX... Not sure what the actual difference is, but looks like CX kits are better priced than the "real" Lava kits.

Now I really think I'm done for some time :)

Very nice....

I reckon that is all you need for 95% of the time, just a tuner, compressor, a little dirt and a chorus. All gives a touch more definition and interest to your playing.

I guess the chorus is always on as a fattener rather than as a wobbly effect.

I am going for a "bass board" with tuner, chorus, compression and DI Box on and a "trick board" with the Q-Tron, phaser, octave, distortion etc on. Then, I can use the "trick board" on guitar too with a "guitar board"....

I did try the one massive board for everything but that was just too big and heavy.

Abut the chorus, exactly.

It's quite complete setup but on the other hand some overdrive or reverb would be nice addition :)

Damn GAS :bawl:

Here's Thursday night rehearsal's board.

G50 > Sonic Research ST 200 Tuner > Pork Loin > Swollen Pickle > Carbon Copy > Empress Compressor.

The Pickle came off Friday, adding Mark Bass SS and an EQ for sidechaining the Empress. And a new Voodoo.

I'll take an updated pic as soon as I rip it apart and put it back together.
