Show me your compact pedalboard setup

I think I may be going from this...

I played a couple gigs with the big board (where I use like 1 pedal for 1 song) and a couple with the big board but didn't use anything. No one noticed. That was petty telling to me.
I am going to try an Omnicab Sim pedal with the small board. See if I can give my DI/IEM tone a little kick.

I've done the exact same thing. After lugging around massive boards with pedals that would only be used once in a blue moon, and even then my bandmates had no idea I did anything different (let alone the crowd...), I landed on this board:

I also carry around a JDI for when I need it. This gets everything done for me now and it is one of the best tones I've ever had (again, not that anyone other than me would notice).

This is a killer board - not an ounce of fat. What's the rest of your setup?

Also, the effectrode comp has always intrigued me. Any clips of this in action?

Sorry, no clips as of now. The FTT EQ has only been out for about a month now and I don't have any recent recordings.

As far as rest of my setup: I use passive Fender P's & J's with TI or LaBella flats & rounds. When I need an amp I use a Mesa Walkabout with either 2x 15" Scout cabs or Subway 12" cabs (up to 3x).

Heya StrangerDanger... Is this compact? Not really -- but you choice of pedals is extremely tasteful, so I'm going to let it slide ;) How is that EHX Epitome working for you? I've got a Manta and a TC Chorus, but am looking to add some reverb so thinking about swapping the TC for the Epitome...

Just got the Epitome so I haven’t fully dug in but I’d say it’s a winner. The octaver tracks perfectly. The chorus and flanger are effective without making you seasick. Reverb is interesting especially the flerb. The shimmer switch with all 3 on and the manta and the Carbon Copy make some pretty wild things happen.

Here's mine! It's all about:
1) Maximizing tonal options in the most compact way possible
2) Managing "complex" pedals in the most easy/smart way possible
3) Having easy and comfortable access to everything the pedals can offer (knobs, MIDI/USB/Expression ports, etc.)
I can create pretty much anything with this board, from classic sounds to total craziness.

Can you give us a rundown on the Syntax Error for Bass ? I've seen the guitar demos, but nothin so far for bass, and you seem to be the pioneer.

Have you done a video or audio demo for instance ?
Are there any modes that turn out to be just unusable for bass ?

I've been realizing to be a "pioneer" of this pedal since the day I started to be interested in it. Honestly, I think it's a pedal that will be appreciated in the next future, since it's really something different and doesn't seem to attract many people. Like I said several times, just the gated fuzz tones you get in square mode worth the pedal, imho. You can get classic effects like delay, chorus, phaser, flanger or go completely crazy with the bit crusher and/or any combination of pitch shifting and other synth effects. You can always blend your clean signal so everything is always manageable and "usable".
I use the pedal mostly for the fuzz with an expression pedal set to control the resonance of the filter. It's outstanding.
I also use the pedal for slapback reverb-like delay, a couple of pitch shifted delays, a phaser and a clean boost with a touch of gain and bit crusher. You can save 4 presets and each preset have a "heel" and "toe" position, so basically two sounds per preset using an expression pedal, MIDI, or a tap tempo switch. It's so huge it's hard for me to explain everything. I think the TGP demo is good for understanding what the pedal is capable of.

Uh, wow! That looks like you have some really cool boxes there -- kudos for keeping it creative & compact. Question: Which Neunaber box are you running with that expression pedal? The Syntax error looks amazing; the demo video looks to be mostly guitar; can you get some good stuff out of it when playing bass? Does it overload?
Thanks!
Usually, the expression pedal is connected to the Syntax Error (which is made by Alexander Pedals) which needs an expression or MIDI/Tap pedal to access two presets for each bank (4 in total). When it comes to rock, pop and classic stuff I use the expression pedal to control the Fuzz resonance and do "cut off" synth style movements.
The Neunaber is controlled by its EXP pedal which stores 4 banks and two presets per bank like the Syntax Error, plus it does have 4 expression inputs, one for each knob and one to morph from one preset to the other.
When I plan to play ambient stuff or solo pieces I usually control reverb or delay with the expression pedal.

Love the Atari graphics style on the Syntax Error!
The Atari sounds are even better. :P

Can I play too?

I'm still pretty new to bass, so I haven't set up a dedicated bass board (yet). This is my guitar board, but I also use it with bass for home jamming and demo recording, and I've used it at rehearsals plugged straight into the PA too. The Atomic Ampli-Firebox allows for custom IR cabinet simulation, so I've set up a bass preset using the Bassman amp model and a 4x10 Mesa Bass cab IR.

There are a few other pedals on the board that work decently for bass too. The Tone City Fuxx Fuzz is surprisingly good, and the Pitch Fork is great for octave effects! Add an octave up and down and run it into the Fuzz for maximum hugeness :)
The Flashback 2 and Blue Sky obviously work well if I want delay or reverb, and it's a lot of fun laying down a bass groove with the Ditto and then plugging in my guitar to add some more layers to it and noodle on top of it.

The Dyna Comp is definitely no good for bass though; it sucks a lot of low end from the sound. So for compression, I've set up a compressor block on the bass preset of the Ampli-Firebox and it works well enough; pretty subtle so that I can just leave it on (since there's no way of turning it off without going into deep edit from a PC :) )
