Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Butt I don't fault anyone for going with a Pedaltrain, Mono or the like. There is a more professional perception to a manufactured rather than DIY solution.

And blam!

Mono make great quality stuff but it's not the cheapest. This gig bag rivals any hardshell case I've ever owned. If I use my class d head it fits in the front sleeves leaving two hands for handling cabs.
One trip and I'm loaded in. That's worth a few bucks to me.

Agree that easy load-in is worth $$$! How big is your bass head? Wondering if I can get a Mesa D-800 in a bass case...

Alright gang. This was working ok so far but... the one spot I was using is now extremely noisy with the 3BOD. Now I'm already thinking about an iso supply which will fix that but... my band wants me to start incorporating my MF-104 as of yesterday which is obviously almost as big as my current board. So... suddenly now I have a larger set up with specific power requirements for the Moog. Whatever. Maybe I go back to the Classic Jr board? Then I can put another dirt pedal on there. But then I would need a bigger supply because my ISO5 really only has 4 useful outputs. But if I have more outputs I could

I didn't think I had a disease until I actually typed all that out and re-read it. :help: Sorry guys, I think I'm out.

You could try the Metro 16 - it's a few inches wider than the Nano, and is 8" tall. The Moogs are 8-9", but you wouldn't have an issue. May have to tighten up the spacing to fit all 4, though...

That's a good idea thought my first thought was to not spend more money on another board and just go back to the one I was using. I wanted to avoid obsessing over it but I fear it's too late. :D

I picked up the new Broughton APEX compressor to sub in for my Broughton Monocle, so here's how I reset my board. The front-end HPF may be redundant now that I have a comp with HPF in the sidechain, which would free up room for one more pedal. :)

Fuzz? Sub-octave? Envelope? The possibilities are limited only by what Josh Broughton manages to keep in stock. ;)

Not necessarily - the front end HPF was actually affecting your tone and rolling off some low end before your signal hit the rest of your pedal-chain. The Apex HPF will effectively be letting more lows/sub-bass through the compression circuit. They're sort of serving opposite purposes here...

  1. Nice board! A little function, a little fun... You might try these straight 1/4 pedal connectors instead of cables to clean & lighten things up. Cheers!

I don't recommend the straight ones. I've found that using inflexible connectors can put stress on pedal jacks, especially when trying to move/remove pedals from your board, or even just when stomping on them. The offset "Z" shaped ones are a little better because they allow a little bit of swivel/movement.

EDIT: But the EBS flat patch cables are the best!

True, but my primary use for the pre-HPF was always to cut subs before my compressor. I usually had it dialed down low as much as possible, especially live. I have additional HPF on the Studio One so I'm still cutting before the amp anyway.

For now it's staying on the board until I figure out how it affects the rest of my chain. I've also moved my comp position now too. It used to be right after the HPF, but I wanted to see how the Terraformer and Ictineo react with my uncompressed signal. Haven't really had a chance to play with the new setup since I put the APEX on the board.

Here's mine - I don't think anything too crazy.

Korg Tuner -> DG Vintage Microtubes OD -> MXR M85 Distortion -> Big Muff Reissue -> EHX Bass Clone -> Milk Box Compressor -> Ampeg SCR-DI -> Memory Mint tin for picks :)

Board is a Metro 24 and is powered by an MXR DC Brick w/ 1spot 9v power plug attached underneath w/ all wiring secured w/ zip ties and gorilla tape. All MXR patch cables...Nice and clean.

whenever I see old DOD stuff I get nostalgic.
Everyone thought it was junk when i was a kid. now i wish I had hoarded a bunch of their stuff.
