Not right now anyway, but it wouldn’t be hard to put a switch in for more versatility if I needed it in the future. I kind of like the simplicity of it right now being that the only setting I’d use anyway is both pickups on full.

I’m really on the line if I wanna play short scale or reg. Lined or unlined. So what does one do? Defret a cheapy and with a bit of shoe leather you’ll soon find out if unlined doesn’t you.

Ah! I was thinking of doing that to one of my fretless converts.
I was gonna put a 3 way switch into the jazz bass, but I always play with both pickups full as well, so you have me reconsidering...
I wasn't at first as I was convinced it served no purpose. I have tried it and it does make the bass more comfortable to play when standing up.
Funny you mention that, my jazz bass is wired for one master volume as well. Right now the middle knob is unused, but i plan on throwing in a blend control at some point. I prefer not having to mess with two knobs for volume in a live setting.
On my Tune bass,I defretted it
and swapped out the black plastic knobs for gold/abalone dome knobs.
A ramp was also made and installed.
And I made a wood electronics cavity cover.
I despise large expanses of plastic on my basses.
On my BTB I made and installed a ramp and replaced the stock knobs with Boxwood knobs.
So some are modded more while some need little.

Got to finish wiring and restring my epi eb0. After way too long of having 2 pickups but only 1 connected(guild bisonic.. swapped 3way for varitone at some point) finally caved and drilled under pickguard to add 3 way switch. Also switched from victory gold foil to novak h22 gold foil. Victory sounded good but not wide enough to scoot too far back in middle. H22 a lot wider. Victory would be great on bass neck (contemplates 3rd bass to mod). Tomorrow busy (end of school year/graduation) so probably won't get wiring done until next week but the hard part (drilling & chiseling) is done.
Neck pickup = guild reissue bisonic.
Middle = novak h22

3 way switch added to pickguard (my eb0 has small cavity so can't fit it all.).
Still need lighter tuners. And maybe do side output jack so I can add back in tone knob (varitone + tone knob one day...).

As is the custom of this thread I've decided to present my Costume Shop Squier Vintage Modified Jazz V Bass.
So for those that haven't seen this one before the modifications are as follows...
Lindy Fralin Jazz 5 Pickups
John East J-Tone active/passive pre amp
Fender American 08 Bridge
Hipshot Ultralite tuners
Neck Shave (10% reduction & refinishing) by Haywire Custom Guitars
Black face headstock
Silver Squier graphics
LaBella Tapewounds
And yes the sum of the mods cost more than what my wife paid for the bass but I had fun putting this together and making it work exceedingly well. No financial gain was ever expected. Cheers
