That really is some nice wood on that Bass, IMO I would get gold bridge and keys to compliment the wood better not chrome with that wood, no offence.

I'm the second owner, and this bass was an in-house build for an employee, so I know the hardware was by request. Gold hardware is an excellent suggestion, and yes, I agree it would bring up the highlights in the grain. Eventually I want to get an electronics upgrade, and that would be the time to have Ken do the gold.

I am contemplating snagging a Walnut Ric and would appreciate your thoughts on the poly finish on the bass. I saw a couple of them at NAMM last year and to me, the finish felt extremely thin and not so durable. As In you could use your thumbnail to create an impression in the wood.
So I guess I'm asking is that your experience, or have they beefed up the thickness/harness of the finish so as to be more consistent with their other instruments?
