This is so funny be cause I was just trying to do a google search on an old yamaha bb150 I once had.(am I correct on this model number?) it had just the two pickups andtwo knobs and was bright red in color. I bought it from a kid in college for $150 it sounded really great but I traded it in for a Washburn fretless:( not a good trade as it turned out ended up dumping the fretless and a peavy foundation for a Kramer forum 4 bass I believe.

Just picked this up today:
Yamaha BB300 from 1986.
Made in Taiwan.
Seymour Duncan Active EQ pickups?(Don't know too much about these)
Bad Ass Bridge II.

It's missing the pot covers, but I plan I getting some nice chrome ones.

I just ran across [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], which I made in 1989 a very short time after I bought my BB1600.

I was 18 at the time; one of my buddies was working in a studio in Houston and had run of the place at night. We did this demo between 8 PM and about 3 AM one Friday night.

The bass sounds OK; it's amazing to me how far home digital recording has come in these last ~20 years. This was done in a fully outfitted professional 32-track studio, and I can make a better sounding recording on my $200 Fostex 4-track today.

The funniest thing, though, is that I thought I was going to use this demo to get gigs. In retrospect, I see that only a very certain kind of potential employer would not have run screaming.

My 'modding in progress' bb615.
So far I've replaced the pre with an aguilar and the nut with bone.
My next mod will be the string tree and the bridge will be swapped for a babicz bridge.

I recently tried one of the Nathan east style bb's and look to getting one of these in the future.
