Peavey 410TX for $25 (I soldered a wire to make it work) and a GK 800RB for $100 (the seller thought there was a problem with it but it works great for me). I sold the cab and now have an Ampeg PR hlf 410 that's awesome. Got it for $275. Picked up an Ampeg SVT 3 pro fpr $265. Got a Highway One Jazz, mint, for $250.
So a great rig for a total of $590 including a decent bass (after selling that Peavey cab for $200).

Heh, I'm not sure. I bet it was still a good deal--I'm just always interested to hear the date when people bought something for a low price.

In New Zealand bass gear can be so expensive - so here's my "Cheap" rig of doom!

Locally built head - made by a hippy in his garage near the beach here in Christchurch NZ.
550 watts at 4ohms. Pre amp based on Trace Elliot circuitry. GK styled tone controls.(dials for Low, Low mid, High Mid and High)
- cost $1200 New Zealand Dollars. This is very cheap in New Zealand for this much power.

Peavey 410TVX - cost new $1800 New Zealand dollars. In hindsight I paid way to much for this cab, but i was set on a 4ohm 4x10 and there wasn't much else around!!

Would love to replace the cab with a bergantino NV610 but i get married in a weeks time so that might have to wait!!

I cut the cab down to make it more manageable in the car!

The bassist for a band I roadie with was throwing it out when he moved house. My costs have been some glue, some paint, a few screws and some 2"x1" for skids on the bottom of the cab.

Can't get much cheaper than that! ;)

The rack, Carvin DCM1204, dbx 223 crossover, and pair of EV SX300's are surplus from an auditorium renovation at work. The SX SJB62 4+1 was a gift from my parents, and the stand was a gift from my wife. $0.00.

I bought a peavey T-Max amp that should be here tomorrow off ebay for 150$, now I just need a giant, cheap, thundering cabinet to match it with!

I have about 200$ to get one, what sounds good? Im thinking a nice 2x15 to pump out some good sounds from the tube channel :D .
