i loved my mb-2 when i had it. but i traded it for a bnf-6 and then i sold that and got my brand new bnf-5

mb2 has gotta be like thelightest electric bass out there. and if u pair it with a " moody leather" strap, its like u arne't even holding anything at all. i really loved the growl it had in the lower strings. just crazy. sometimes i found that i really had to dig into her to get some bite of it tho..

reallly nice bass

Below are hew pics of the pretty much finished neck of the my P. Well, it's done and has the clear lacquer, and he's going to put the butterscotch on this week. So it's just missing "color".

Rob says I should have my bass in December - he's still working on the bridge design. I'll have body photos soon :bassist:

Not only is Mr. Allen an amazing luthier and bass builder, he seems like he is quite the photographer too. I'm assuming you've seen the pics on his website right? All the better to show us the beautiful wood grain!

He does all of the build pics that most of us have, but I think he utilized a pro for a lot of the stuff on his website when he had it done a few years back. Still, he's an exceptional photographer. I wouldn't think he'd really need to hire a photographer next time he updates the site.

I just got this Fretted Paduak topped RA 5 string in a trade... one piece ash body, cocobolo fingerboard, strung E-C, 34 inch scale

Killer Killer Killer ... I keep saying this but Rob Allen is definitely one of my all time favorite builders ever... I will have a 3rd!

The other one is my Fretless 4...

Amazing he got that big of a slab of ash. My Mouse 30 has a single piece body, but it's a lot smaller.

You'll get a 3rd....maybe a 4th!!!

I'm going to look at ordering my 3rd a while after getting my Conklin to see if I'm a 6er type of guy.

Both of my RA's have ash bodies my MB2 fretless 4 has a 2 piece body.

Im still waiting to try a Mouse, If I could order one it would be a Deep 4 with mandolin frets with a few other options ... yea maybe another 2 or so :)

I'd like to get an MB2 6er, 34" scale Deep 5 tuned E-C, and perhaps a 32" scale MB2 tuned E-C, all fretless, naturally!! I thought his fretted short scale 8 was kinda cool, but I don't really use frets that often.

The Mouse 30 is certainly a favorite of mine. Aside from the ~5.5lb weight and killer upright tone, it's simply a blast to play.

Ive seen only one MB2 6 string... its somewhere in this thread.
you know you are totally right the basses are so much fun to pick up and play, I have played my fretless everyday since I got it, cant get enough of that tone. as well I cant wait to play the fretted 5 out.

I would love to see one with a walnut body.
