I guess I am out of touch. I can see a 6 string with a 12 string 2 neck guitar. The 2 neck Rick. wins. Still great pictures and like a super nitro funny car its really cool looking !!

individual on/offs for each neck. the mod was actually done by the previous owner, i just replaced the switches with something a bit more reasonable.

How well does the GK pickup handle the 7th string? I thought they only worked up to 6.
There's some seriously nice ones here, puts my cheapy to shame. Wiring is done, but needs new pickups. Still undecided on how it's going to be finished but probably some sort of paint as the wood isn't very pretty.

it is setup to only pickup the top 6 strings (the low b is ignored by the rmc stuff). on my instruments equipped with the rmc polydrive, the lowest strings on my 7's and 8's are all tied to the lowest channel of the 6 available, and they track pretty well even to the lowest range with the axon unit i use.

what's there to be out of touch with? some folks want to play fretted and fretless in the same song, or widely varying tunings.

That' cool, a great modern take on a very traditional bass type.
if i were you I'd trim the bottom pickguards top "horn" to run in the same curve as the body and other pickguard. Jst make the whole thing a little smoother to look at IMHO.

The Spinal Snap Special (it goes to 11). Took a while to get the design right as I didn't want to necks to be too far apart. The body is basically a jazz bass doubled but with slightly deeper cutaways. The Body is Alder with a Birdseyes Maple top with Cherry. The necks are Warmoth. 6 string is a Maple Ebony Fretless and the 5 Stings is a Birdseyes Maple Pau Ferro. The pickups are Mighty Mite as I needed to find a 6 string pickup and a 5 string pickup that would be able to be used on the same electronics. The fader allows you to switch between necks or to have both necks on at the same time. I designed the bass to be played sitting down but it actually plays better standing up.

Some of these look amazing, but I used to own a 6/12 doubleneck guitar, and I can't imagine gigging with one again - my back can't take it!
I just picked this up on ebay a few weeks back. Got a fantastic deal on it only $1000.00 and it has a custom flight case. I talked to the maker, Jill guitars, he said it was a special order made 10 years ago. Lined fretless on both.
