Adrian, if you shot those pix you are doing a great job! 'bursts are difficult to shoot and make look right.

This bass is a pretty killer player- and dosent look bad either....

I wanted to add that in all the back to back real time testing I've done with topped and non topped FBasses I think there is a difference- non topped Fs have just a little more edge and openess to my ears...its not "better", its just more of what I'm looking for in an ash/maple combo. The topped basses have their own character too- maby some may prefer it, and, the difference is slight increasing as you use heavier /denser top woods. My engineer says the above bass is his favorite..the ash is dense and on the heavier side, the ambrosia is hard- puts some oomph in the mids and made the bass a little more compressed overall..which can be seen as a benefit too. I love using it for anything.

Even with the effect minimalized with the thinner top width, I think a different kind of wood laminated on another will not resonate in the same way as just a one or two piece of the same kind..."seems" to be the case here anyways.

i must say that this bass is very sweet, and having played it before aswell. i know it sounds just as good as it looks

it felt a bit heavy though IMO but a little weight never hurt anyone. just give'er and deal with it.

That's why I sold it. I was playing my other custom one and this one was getting very little playing time. It deserved to be played. A lot.

This bass haunts me.

I am such a dawg for George's Ceruse finish. Just check my avatar which is a photo of my Ceruse BN5. I've been practicing exclusively on fretless for about 4 months now. If I had this bass I wouldn't have to worry about my intonation as everybody would be hynotized just looking at it. to pay attention to how bad my intonation is.

:: sigh :: I've sold off both my studio BN6 and newer BN6 recently. I miss the newer one already and I just shipped it off yesterday.

I still have my BNF6 though. This baby isn't going anywhere unless Alain Caron himself calls and asks if I'd want to trade basses with him.

I've talked to George briefly about adding a piezo to my bass. What do you think? Good idea if I want a bit more acoustic sound?

Hope you don't mind, but I must have one of these... and Mr. Garcia is going to help me. The seed is planted with the SO... it's only a matter of time.
