Hey Mark: There is a very small difference to my touch and ear, although with the different body (Studio vs BN5) and boards (maple vs ebony), those are also part of the difference..... I think. :hmm:

In general, the newer 2+3 with the longer B is better intoned around the first two frets, and overall sounds a bit tighter to me down there as well.

Hey Vince:

You will love yours when you get your hands on it - in person they look even more unbelievable. When I was cleaning and restringing my BN5 today I spent 20 minutes just admiring the details in the top. There is burl, flame and spalt there!

Hope to see finished pictures of your bass when its done. I was in the shop last week, but forgot to ask George to see it - damn.. :)

There was an F Bass booth at NAMM. The F Bass website has pictures that pretty much have the sames types of shots I took while there, or I 'd be happy to post them, as well.

My F should be done in about a month, according to George, so as soon as I get it, or if I get additional progress pix, I'll post them. Until then, here's the unfinished body, which many of you have seen, if you follow the F threads as closely as I do

I know. It was a shock to me, but it's likely he had this body already. There were two that he showed me, and I asked him to choose from among them, or to chose another altogether based on what he knew I wanted. I was willing to wait. This is the one he selected, based on weight and grain pattern. It does look amazing, although some of the coolest parts of the finish will be pretty much obscured from a distance by the purple part of the burst. This honestly would be an incredible body for a ceruse. Although the ceruse is generally not my taste for my personal bass, they are quite striking.

:: sigh :: I've sold off both my studio BN6 and newer BN6 recently. I miss the newer one already and I just shipped it off yesterday.

I still have my BNF6 though. This baby isn't going anywhere unless Alain Caron himself calls and asks if I'd want to trade basses with him.

I've talked to George briefly about adding a piezo to my bass. What do you think? Good idea if I want a bit more acoustic sound?
