Show Us your Flats

Just took this one this morning.

The one on the left doesn't have flats (yet), but will later this week. Doing a bridge change (the two saddle bridge is junk and I need more accurate intonation) and will get flats then.

The other two are already wearing light gauge Chromes.

Thanks...should give some folks an idea of the smoothness...obviously the GHS being the leader in that category...at least of these four brands.

The DR flats are the only flats ime that are as smooth to the touch.

At one time, I had a bass with GHS flats and a bass with DR flats, and I couldn't tell them apart. One of my pet theories is that GHS makes the flats for DR.

could be...I have also heard DAddario make the Ernie Balls but I don't have any Daddario to compare...

Hey guys, sweet pictures!
I have a question for you flatwound players...

What do you guys think is a better match?
I have two Jazz basses, one is an active Squier 5'er, the other is MIM Fender FSR Jazz with DiMarzio Model J's.
I want to put a set of flats on one of them. If it were up to you guys, which would you pick for the flats and why?
I'm leaning towards the Fender for flats...
:ninja:

I'd go Fender, as well.

I agree that EB Flats and Chromes are very similar. EBs don't have silk wraps on the bridge side or colorful ball ends. Other than that, I can't tell the difference. Unfortunately, the stiffness of either is more than I like.

Here are TI Jazz Flats on one of my Schecters. I absolutely love the way they feel and sound!
