Show Us your Flats

I'll take a picture later in the day, but I have some .032 - .080 chromes on my squier vm jaguar tuned A standard. They were a little too bright at first, so I drenched them in jojoba oil for about 30 minutes. (pretty similar composition to the sebum in our skin) Sound good now.

Chromes on my Fender ABG. I never paid attention to that half fret at the end before, I don't usually play that far up the neck.

Well I only played light fender flats, and medium light d'addario chromes. I think they sounded pretty similar, initially. After i drench them in jojoba oil, the fenders sound more motown type of flat. The chromes sound more closer to broken in rounds. I've only used the fenders for about 6 months, and the chromes for a week. I'd assume they all sound very similar after they've been on for a year and up.

Here's my Squier Standard Precision V, wearing GHS Precision Flatwounds custom set (40-55-75-100-128). I like the feel, and the sound is pure Motown thump, but I'm not quite sure that's the sound I'm looking for. Very seriously considering a set of D'Addario Tapewounds.. Pics will follow when I get them on :D
