I have no words for this.
I mean other than "I want one of these in the worst possible way".
This and 2saddleslab's red pinstripe Tele bass are the only two instruments that have left me speechless.

How have I no out this in here yet?
this had a convoluted story, no small amount of stress and heartbreak, and a sudden surprise joyful ending.
Dingwall D-Bird standard, in Vintageburst, originally, but shortly after I got it from a Reverb sale, one of the brass threaded inserts for one of the pickups pulled out. I figured that while I was getting it fixed, I could also get it refinished.
Pat Wilkins’ shop did a spectacular job, and I got nice studio photos before they packed it up to send back to me:

And then it disappeared. Just stopped moving in the UPS system. A week later, we put in a claim, to get them to search for it. Two months passed, and the bass was nowhere to be found, case closed, and the shipping insurer doing their level best to dick us over. I was distraught and couldn’t even look at a bass in a similar hue without getting a little tug in my heart, and Pat was gutted, never having had any instrument go missing in over 20 years.
One day, I’m outside and UPS pulls up. By this time, I’m expecting a package that is also a large box, so I am I surprise to see the UPS guy approaching with just such a large box…I check the label, I’m always curious how packages from other companies are marked (expected package is from Georgia), and I see Wilkins Guitars as the shipper.
I
Went
Nuts
Confused the driver with my profuse thanks, and immediately went and sent Pat an email, because I knew this had pained him.
And here it is, in my back yard:

Same here. I don’t choose the black basses; they choose me!My favorite color. Ironically, I have never owned a green bass or guitar yet. A lot of good-looking pieces on here though.
I actually like white basses, but black is a classic I'll agree.Same here. I don’t choose the black basses; they choose me!
I keep coming back to the Bag Ends. They just sound great!
Wish I could have bought the Sterling Ray 4 in more or less this shade. I love me some army/olive green!![]()
I've got one!
