That was my thought too. Those videos, plus Ed Friedland's video playing a Turner Ren 6, have pushed me over the edge in wanting piezos for my 6. Not sure when it'll happen exactly, but I do have a 50th birthday coming up.

That was my thought too. Those videos, plus Ed Friedland's video playing a Turner Ren 6, have pushed me over the edge in wanting piezos for my 6. Not sure when it'll happen exactly, but I do have a 50th birthday coming up.
Pretty sure Moto was using the piezo in that video.
Very excited about seeing his headless style! I want him to build my next bass, but I'm on the fence about traditional vs. headless. His headstocks are already compact and so well balanced, but I've always loved the headless format.
Awesome! I hope this build can help you somehow with your decision. This will be my first Martin Keith instrument...and my first headless. It's been great working with Martin on this project.
LOVE my custom Zon Sonus headless. For one, it's an easier fit on the cramped stages I often play. Also, those rollers stay in tune MUCH better than standard tuners with ears (onstage bumpage happens, but I'm mainly referring to case storage). Can't wait for your thoughts on your Keith headless!

He could have made the Alder body, Walnut accent layer, and Maple top all totally flat and later put a radius on the top only, and it still would have looked great. He went the extra steps and put a radius on all three layers...subtle but classy looking!

Thank you so much! I am extremely grateful to be able to have one of Martin's instruments coming my way...especially this headless! Maybe you will get to check it out before I do?
Unfortunately not. Martin is a good three and a half hours away from where I've been, unfortunately....but I'm really looking forward to finished photos, and hearing how you like it!

Yes, I can understand why. I'm sure that he is happy to know you also. It's obvious to me that Martin does what he does as more than just a business.
