Show us your Martin Keith Basses

Ladies, gentlemen, and nonbinary friends, I present to you the most meta post possible on this thread: Martin Keith playing a Martin Keith.

This was at sound check for a Pneumatic Tubes gig in Saugerties. They’re playing NYC tonight. He also played some pedal steel. Very nice show.

Jealous! Take some video.?
I really wish that I had, but I was trying my best to enjoy the music without my phone in hand. Martin crushed it. Just perfect playing for the music. Martin is such a fantastic musician. Such a light touch, and a total command of every aspect of his fingerboard, as well as harmonically. He had the most beautiful sound. The best.

What will you be getting??

It's a mid-size Elfin, 5-string unlined fretless, african mahogany body (he has a great example on his gallery), pau ferro fingerboard, hipshot A bridge (IIRC), Bartolini pickups.

I was planning on the regular Elfin but he suggested the midsize for my weight/balance/reach desires. He's been so great with feedback and I felt like I could trust his wisdom.

It can take me a long time nowadays pull the trigger on a bass (probably a good thing for me financially!) but everything seemed right: price, specs and especially his professionalism and communication. I sent the deposit within a week!

You’re going to be so happy!! The midsized body is new. I believe yours will be the first. I believe my eventual headless will have the same sized body. Congrats!

Also also of note, not sure what they’ll be, but he is making two stock semi hollows if anyone is interested!

I'm an entirely blue collar player, especially compared to you and Mr. Keith, so I wouldn't put on airs with a semi-hollow* (this is just how my brain works). But I'll be drooling over them, for sure!

*On my wish list: a headless solidbody

its really hard to put into words how good this bass is. Even my bandmates were kinda shocked how great it sounds. it does thick but acoustic-y uprighty quarter notes, it does singing high melodic tones, it does growly burpy bridge pickup tones, and the playability is as good as anything I've ever played. Just insane....
