Damn man, that thing is fire! Like @Richard Lindsey said, so elegant. Can we get a re-cap of the wood choices and specs, or will you be doing that in a NBD thread?
@smperry Absolutely beautiful! I love all of the acoustic appointments coupled to the practicality of an electric bass. I bet your bass is an absolute joy to play.

I should be able to pick it up in a week or two. Martin said his camera is washing out the transparent white a bit, in real life the grain is more visible (and probably less yellow). Weight came in just under 9 lbs. I can't wait to see it in person!
Finally have it in my hands, and it’s glorious!!! Full report coming once I spend some more time with it. It’s everything I had hoped and more. So much clarity, so many tonal variations, so much depth. The B is amazing. Martin of course is such a great guy to hang out with. He also made some minor electronic repairs in my Elfin Plus fretless.

I'm very excited to see you got the bass! I haven't heard anything yet, but mine should be coming up shortly. I'm very much looking forward to carrying a smaller instrument around town.
Mine should be done within two weeks. Also headless! I occasionally get jokes when I play my headless Zon: "Your bass is broken!" I often respond "I got it on sale at Toys'R'Us".
The headless look is totally fine with me, and the schlep is so sweet.
It's done! I sent payment and shipping address to Martin this evening. I'll be out of town this weekend, so debut gig will be a week from Friday. I'll report here before that, of course. Psyched!

It's about time I posted my Elfin! In our initial discussion Martin suggested a midsize Elfin for better balance and reach with my needs. The fit surpassed my expectations and is more comfortable than any basses I've owned. The size is Goldilocks just right!
It is an elegantly made bass and yet I don't feel the need to baby it (or be careless of course!). I'm allowed to just play the instrument. The neck feels fantastic. I've been given compliments on the tone (Bartolini originals, LaBella black nylon tapewounds) but its looks have made an impression. I've been hearing more compliments on its beauty and workmanship, even on a day I didn't play it!

Early today, UPS tracking showed "out for delivery". At some point, it became "Address change requested". Went through the trouble of creating a UPS account, and as expected, my unit number was omitted from the destination address. I'm gonna blame UPS, especially because my unit number showed up twice after I submitted the update.
Estimated delivery still shows as today, but status is now "On the way" and not "Out for delivery", so I think UPS is full of BS. Sigh.We've all had these horror stories, many far worse. Even so... gotta vent.
