Here's mine. 1998 Geddy Lee Jazz Bass neck with hipshot tuners and a d tuner, Fender MIM replacement body, badass ii bridge, Dunlop dual design straplocks. It originally had a GZR pickup, then a G&L MFD but now has a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 with an Obsidian solderless wiring harness.

I got another here, Classic Vibe body, (stock electronics) P Bass Special neck (from the ‘99 STD P Bass Special above).
Gotoh smoked chrome bridge. This plays like a dream awesome slab of Rosewood.

I'm digging up this old thread to announce I have a problem. I'm hopelessly addicted to parts build basses! It started during Covid times when I was home, bored, tinkering, and spending way too much time on TB Classifieds. It is loads of fun to experiment. Anyway, here's a handful of my favorites. Most of these parts were sourced here on TB.

1. "The Beater" P Bass - My punk rock bass. Rosser oly white body with G&L SB-1 pickups, 80s or 90s LaSiDo neck, and custom logo. My name is Damon (Nomad backwards.
2. "SpaGeddy Lee Monster" J Bass - MIM Geddy body, BA II bridge, Tom Brantley rewound pickups, Allparts maple neck with pearl blocks. I prefer the beefier Allparts neck to the Fender Geddy necks.
3. "The Holy Trinity of Bass" P Bass - Dee Dee Ramone signature bass body, Steve Harris signature neck, EMG Geezer Butler pickup.
4. "1963 Tribute" P Bass - Nate Mendel body, Fender AO 60s neck, Fender PV63 pickup, reliced hardware done mostly by me.
5. "The Maiden" P Bass - My homage to the old blue Steve Harris bass. I got impatient trying to find one and decided to build one. Plus, I like the necks from the current SH model better than the older ones. Warmoth P body refinished in metallic sparkle blue by Marty Bell, It doesn't match the SH model exactly, but man it's beautiful! SH SD pickup, BA II bridge, SH neck.

This one has a Highway One v2 neck on a relatively ancient (1988) Warmoth ash body. I’ve had maybe 6 different necks on this body over the years; but, I like this neck. I call it the Bass of Clubs; ergo the sticker on the headstock.

This is my five, which I am using most of the time due to transpositions to accommodate aging vocal cords. It has a 2006 neck on a 2012 body; which required Pat Wilkins to rout the neck pocket another 1/2” into the body. I call it the Albatross; because a) it is the longest bass I own and b) it sat disassembled in my closet for nearly two years as I tried to figure out what to do with the mismatched body and neck (my stupidity).Went from failed experiment to main bass in a hurry. The body is actually Mary Kaye trans white with nice ash grain reveal. I keep thinking I’ll get it repainted black; but just can’t bring myself to do it.

I use the Delano JMVC pickups and Sadowsky preamp as a standard.

I’d love to replace the five with a boutique build, but literally can’t find a builder who can touch these specs. So, I suppose those two are going to the grave with me. At least they punch my curmudgeon card.

A bit of an update since my previous post.

I recently obtained a new correctly configured Warmoth alder body for the Bass of Clubs. That is now my primary gigging bass.

I used the older Warmoth ash body to resurrect my “Muttley” bass; and I’m having a blast playing that one with it’s single coil pickups, and more old school vibe.

The Albatross was pretty much Mary Poppins Perfect; except that I recently discovered that the HipShot B bridges are lighter and apparently a bit more resonant than the more engineered A types; so, I made that switch.

All great basses. They meet every need I could think of for my gigs.

Another of my parts basses a loaded satin black contemporary j body, CV 70's blocked and bound neck, black tuners, string trees, new nut, neck plate and the concentric knob/s. This bass is very close to the stock version with the exception of after market tuners, knobs and the tinted gloss neck, the original has a very pale maple board...

I suffer the same affliction but it's a good problem to have. Once the bug gits ya it's hard to go back to just buying standard stock (at least for me)...

The ultimate patience pile of parts:
68 alder/nitro body that came with a 77 maple neck that was trashed. And crummy Di Marzios.
The bridge was probably original to the 68 body, it has since inherited late 70's brass saddles from one of them classic all brass Fender stamped bridges.
1966 pickups.
Neck is a B width from anything between 69 and 74, date has totally faded from the heel, but it is a poly finish on the back, so 69 at the earliest. But it does have a Xavier stamp on the meetup surface at the heel so that means it's probably 1970 at the earliest.
Knobs and pots from 1966. Nice brown thumbrest from a 69 Jazz.
Strap pins from a 72 P Bass from a few years back
The newest thing on it is the guard - the best repro tort guard maker on the planet at a thankfully fair price - Paul from Lavaguard here in the UK. I gave it bit of a beating/staining to make it look more in line with the body and neck.
Tuned usually DADG it's a joyous tone. Even my neighbours who are not rock n roll heads hear it through our shared wall when it's running through the Fender 135 and two open back 15 cabs and they love it. LOL.
And it's under 8.5 lbs.

Charcoal frost PJ body/guts with a Squier neck (rosewood board) from an early Affinity P '04.
I painted the headstock to tie it together better inspired by @Malak the Mad's trio. Wearing DR Black Beauties almost exclusively played w/dirt!
