If anyone is curious, the Phil Jones Bass Double Four is a nice pairing with my Deep 4. I used it at the big band rehearsal, and despite being only 75W, it really cut through. It's also the first time people said something directly about the sound - they liked it better than the Polytone S15 I've been using. Funny how that works. What's crazy is it's as big as a shoebox, has 2 x 4", and only weighs 9lbs.
I'm unsure if I'll be able to do gigs with it (although I may try), but for rehearsals like this? My setup and breakdown just got a whole lot lighter.
UPS just brought this to me. One-piece redwood top, alder body. Sounds and feels really great; and it looks awesome too. I got it from Dave at clubbass.ca. The bass is everything he said it was and he was really easy to deal with. I was worried about the cross-border fees, but they were only about $60. I'll be playing this over the weekend. Very nice bass!

That bass has got to be related to my 6 string.
Thanks for posting this. I'd like to hear more as you have a chance to put it through its paces. What you think the limitations might be.
I have a MB2-5 and though PJ says it will handle the B, I'm a bit skeptical.
I've play my Mouse: tone fully open, with a pick, thru vintage style OD pedal. Fattened the mids, OD level was nicely touch sensitivetedw said:I played the MB-2 again in church today with the treble adjustment all the way up (previously it was at 50%). This brightened the tone somewhat and it worked very well.
Has anyone ordered a deep 6 string?
That would be my grail quest.
I just saw this great YouTube clip (second post from top) of a MB-2 Fretless fingerstyle funk.
