So true. Modern tort seems to be so hit or miss to me whereas the vintage and spitfire stuff seems to always stand out.

Oh well, old thread, but good excuse to post pics!

Mine:

All of these have aftermarket Fender brand pickguards. I could probably figure out the specifics, but don't know off-hand. (62 RI, AVRI, Standard, etc.)

Hi everybody,

I bought these two beautiful guards used. The lop layers are definitely celluloid and I believe they are Fender made in different decades.
The reddish one looks very close to the one on my 2002 MiM Jazz.
Can anybody educate me about them?
