I knew I had seen that bass on ebay! When I saw your post of it, I thought maybe the ebay listing was yet another scam.

It was around $2100 and change.....and worth every penny! It took around 7 to 8 weeks to build and ship it to me.

I am having a custom bass made right now at Langcaster guitars in New Zealand. I already have one of Joh Lang's guitars and the bass body is being made from the same 35,000+ year old swamp kauri wood first discovered buried in peat swamps about 1940. Joh invented his own epoxy for this wood and the finish is glass diamond I swear. The Lo-Impedence pickups (handmade and he holds the patents on these) are really very hot as well. It'll be a while as just sanding the body requires 4 weeks and if it has copal amber (completely amberized amber can be a million years old, copal is "immature amber" and quite beautiful) in the wood as mine does it really requires care in making. The whole thing is incredible, the most ancient workable wood in the world and unbelieveable craftsmanship. You can see what I am getting if you go the the Langcaster guitar website and cruise around. So original they don't even have a serial number. He is making only 5 and 3 are spoken for. Its gonna be a heck of a bass! The guitars are superior to anything out there IMO and I expect the same quality in the bass. I guess you can tell how stoked I am. Anyway, when I get it in hand I'll post a pic.:hyper:

That wood is gorgeous! Can't say I like his headstock design, but that kauri wood-wow!

This bass isn't mine and I'm trying really hard to not buy this. The fretboard is beautiful :eek: I'm having a custom 7 being built and I can't come up with one good reason to buy this bass from Matt @ FBB right now :rollno:

I don't need this bass, but man, I sure do like it .... I just can't justify buying it right now ..... :hmm:
