Show your 4 string boutiques?

G'day every one. this is just a request for picks and stats of all the four string boutique basses out there.
I keep seeing five and six string beauties, you know MTD's and Stammies and Nordies and all the other great ones,and dont get me wrong they're great but something about seeing a great 4string just makes me happy
So please if you've got one post away, i want some 4 baby pron!!

That's damn nice. As nice as anything, nicer than many. But it appears you are the only one with a nice 4 string? Did EVERYONE trade them in for 6+ stringers?

i dont have one yet but if or when i order a custom bass it will without a doubt be a four string, no matter what company i get it from.

Mmmm.... you've showed that before! Looks even better than I remember. I still say you should take Carvin's catalog pics; theirs suck compared to yours!


edit-glad to see the 2x2 head on it; I've never seen one on a Carvin bass; looks much better than I thought it would!

Anything with swirls like the ones on your quilt qualifies as boutique.

Here's my Alembic Series I. Alembic pretty much started the idea of the boutique bass. And this one has pretty decent heritage.

I've never seen one, but I am intrigued by that electronics setup with all the dip switches. Can you go in to detail?

Yup- I put the bass on eBay as I lost one of my regular incomes and needed to find a different way to pay for my custom Elrick coming in this month. The custom will be very similar with some unique upgrades though, so it should cover most of the ground this bass does (which is good, because this bass really is awesome).

And yes, it was also reviewed in Bass Guitar magazine.

Thanks! Yea, I like the 2x2 much better then the standard 4-inline. They call it the CT headstock, again one of those options most people don't know is available for bass.

Well the elecs package is by 'BassTec', a German firm I think.

The dips are for variations on the center freqs for each of the three EQ knobs. I've never messed with them tho, cos the bass just screams bloody murder the way it is.

Slappers would love this bass, but the finger-funk tone is scary too.

Man! Carvin sure has come a long way since my 1987 LB90! or was that an LB70.. it's been so long! But that's looks like the finest of the Ken Smiths or Alembics.. How much, and how long to make?
