This is my new setup that I just got not too long ago. I guess it's fairly common nowadays to run an SVT-4 pro through the 8x10 but i just love the sound i can get with this thing. The only bad thing is i'm now broke and due to high school i can't work a full time job to start making the money back that i spent on this amp. All in all, I'd say it's well worth it.

Actually, that rig is not nearly as loud as my rack rig (Eden Navigator, PLX 3002) into, say, two VL-210B's. However, with all of my setups, my goal is to be able to hear myself, as clearly as possible, without overpowering anyone else on stage. IMHO, headroom is very important, in this regard. So, even if the overall volume is not crushing, I find the clarity to be better with more power. Another goal is to be able to hear my rig across as much of the stage area as possible. Not only do I move around a lot, but my drummer and guitar players want to hear me (and I want to hear them). With four smaller cabs, especially set up side by side, I can get a more even response across a wider section of the stage. Also, I like a very articulate, clear tone, and in some situations (especially at lower volumes), multiple small drivers give me better results than fewer large drivers. Once you really start pushing the volume, the trend seems to reverse (again, in my experience at least).

Overall, that rig is not as big as it looks in the photo. The whole thing is only waist high, and doesn't take up much more floor space than a largish 4x10 does.

This package is pushing out 500 watts @ 4 ohms and sounds amazing. Its pushing this power out of six 10 inch aluminum cones with 60 oz. magnets and one five inch custom aluminum speaker for highs!!! I love it!!! Everyone always hates on hartke, but this is an amazing rig!!!

The two cabs on the left are 2x8's (EA VL-208) and on the right is one more VL-208 and a VL-110.
