Hehehe this is a pic of me and my bros equipment.... You can tell who's got more money (I'm the bassist, he's the guitarist)
And yeah, my bass amp did set on fire, get smashed in, has holes in the wood and won't stop humming or smoking, but at least the blue light still works. My new bass is in the post and I'm saving up for a new amp, I'd like something with a 15" speaker - Until then I'm using the PA (2x500 watt with 15" speakers)

For small gigs and rehearsals, I use a Mesa/Boogie SOB 60 watt head and a 2x10 cab. This thing smokes any combo that I've tried. It can gig with a full band. I never take the volume past 3. These heads can be found on ebay for about 3-350 USD. I wouldn't BS you...it sounds great, loud, punchy and tube FAT.
if you can find a deal on one...pick it up, they are a well kept secret

I should also mention.. most of these Son of Boogie amps came with a Limiter knob..sort of acts like a power soak. In channel one, the amp has volume one, volume two, Master..and the Limiter (as well as bass,mid and high). I use channel two for the bass, which only uses volume two, the master and the limiter. Channel one is hotter and has massive gain..you can dial in anything from slight grind to all out massive distortion from channel one with this amp.
I may be mistaken, but I think they also made a 100 watt version..but I'm not sure of that.

Thanks again! Yah, I saw that they made a one that can go from 100w to 60w... This sounds exactly like what I am looking for...! Just out of curiosity, have you ever played through a Hiwatt Custom 100?.. That's what I usualy use, but its too loud and HUGE...
