Show your ashtrays/pickup covers

Here is my recently acquired 1974 Fender Precision Bass. It didn't come with the original chrome covers, but it obviously wore it's bridge cover for at least part of it's life. I installed a new one and I've found that I enjoy resting my hand on it when playing with a pick as I sometimes do. I decided against getting the chrome pickup cover since I generally pluck the strings over the pickup when playing fingerstyle:

I also have a Vintage '62 Jazz Bass reissue that I bought new in 1988. I never play with the covers installed, but they do look cool with the aged Lake Placid Blue finish:

Cool! I went the coil split route as well but with a trim ring mounted Seymore Duncan coil tap that gives series, parallel, neck single coil and bridge single coil. Here's a close up of the toggles...

That's a beauty, Steve! I have the original bridge and pickup covers of my '75 P, the bridge cover I kept on as it looks nice, the pickup cover I stashed in the case, it gets in the way when playing.

I see you also have the typical broken pickguard tip by the output jack. It's interesting how some left-handed Fenders don't have the model name on the headstock.

The left-handed Fenders made in TV logo period (1969-76) have only the Fender logo on headstock without model name. Better than the system used c.1976-82 with Fender logo on the round headstock tip and model name where the Fender logo usually is, that looks funny.

I agree, but all left-handed Fender basses look extremely cool from my right-handed perspective.

Here is my 1972 Tele bass wearing flats and the original pickup cover. The second owner who had it from 1975 until 2012 didn't use the cover, so it is slightly shinier than the rest of the chrome.

I was unable to make a scrolled headstock/neck, so I wanted to do something that tied in with the f-hole idea.
