You won't regret it.Well, Sumer is rolling around and the weather's nice. I think I'm gonna go for it. Probably an Omni 15,
They are both easy builds and achievable by a novice so long as you exercise patience and read the plans trough at least 5 times before starting.
On the BFD main site, there are builders listed there - you can buy a bare cab shell or one complete. Even for the same bucks you'll pay on one of these ready built, you cannot get a cab for bass that will sound as good.
But be prepared, these cabs are clear and just pure tone. Some people do not like that and realise they preferred the old distorted harmonic tones of your std 410 radiator cabs etc.
Mo
Yes we have these at our church now and again. Not your traditional pit like in an opera house but close to it.Mo- pit gigs? As in musical theatre? If so, which of the BFM cabs do you use most often for that genre?
How were they performed? - I am curiousMine..
So I take it then that your answer to the question "have you ever heard a BFD cabinet equiped with the designated drivers and designated piezo arrangements?" is NO....Bill does nothing magical in his applications, so I stand by my opinions...... I have purchased a number of plans and I have also been designing and building high quality horn based systems for a number of years.
Do you have some pics of your builds. I too build horn cabs and am always interested to see other peoples' efforts/ideas....... I have also been designing and building high quality horn based systems for a number of years.

Thanks, I’ve already contacted the builder geographically closest to me and will work out an arrangement to try out several cabinets.
Previously when I had an LMS and MLSSA system in my former company. I'm awaiting new software and mic before I start doing serious measurements again. Current system is decent, but not great, ie I know it and can get consistent results out of it.How were they performed? - I am curious
That is correct. But as I stated previously, I have purchased several plans and see NOTHING that is different from any other basic piezo implementation I've ever seen, so I stand by my previous statements. If you're going to say there is a difference, justify it.So I take it then that your answer to the question "have you ever heard a BFD cabinet equiped with the designated drivers and designated piezo arrangements?" is NO
Sure. I'll find a scanner. Only just bought a digital camera so they were taken with an SLR.Do you have some pics of your builds. I too build horn cabs and am always interested to see other peoples' efforts/ideas.
I do not have any of my own tests apart from what the recommended process is that is available from Bill's site."Where are YOUR measurements, not Bill's? THD and CSD would be especially revealling."
Funny you should ask that."Suddenly the idea popped into my head that since the BF cabinet are so accurate in their reproduction of sound that they should be the ideal cabinet for a bass modeling preamp. Yes?"
Who else is doing the 2x8 crossfire peizo arrays which are cut and glued, series/parallel wired like in the BFD cabs?... and see NOTHING that is different from any other basic piezo implementation .....
