Yup, this has been my favoritest custom color scheme for going on 30 years or so. Here are the two in my rack at the moment (and probably for a long time).:bassist:

Regarding where to buy your tort... A shout out to Pickguardian, I like red tort and I'm very picky about fit, Pickguardian has nice material and did a great job with the fit. WD has nice material but have been totally hit or miss (ok, never even been all that much of a hit) with fit, and where their fit was terrible I found their customer service is too. Chandler pickguards are cut perfectly in my experience but their material is the very brown stuff and their red tort material was the fake printed stuff that I don't like.

Sorry for the skinny string pic, but this is one of the Pickguardian red torts, the white SR4 is wearing the same stuff now and I think it's a huge improvement. I love black and tort, nice thread!

Where do you buy your pick guards? I've checked the Fender site and a site called WD I think...

Any other good places to shop?
I'm lovin' the look of the tortoise shell PG's.
Awesome.

I got mine from these fine folks: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Notably, I got the Group E 41 Tortoise Shell (brown) 4-ply .095. The image below shows a comparison between the brown and the red. I prefer the brown because the material is true to what was used in vintage Fenders. It's a tortoiseshell material that's made in Italy. And over time it will age into that rich red color that you see on vintage instruments.
