Very nice Bass VI! Care to share more info about this one?

Its the pawn shop version that I modded/unmodded? I got the pickguard and switches from SneakyT and the switch and control plates from Rutters guitars. The bridge pu is a classic player jag pickup and I put a jag mute on. So far I like it a lot more than when it was stock.

Ah! Very cool. I had actually seen a black Custom Shop Bass VI recently and thought yours might be one of those, or perhaps one of the older Japanese reissues. I played one of the more recent Japanese Bass VI's and it was very cool, but heavier than I would've expected.

^that is the plan. It is the Squier version so I am not sure where to go to get one that fits. I have upgraded the pickups/electronics and the tuners. It has a full fretless conversion with flats. Now for the tort...advice for Squier replacement guards appreciated.

I second this, it really makes it all come alive. Especially if you have a 4ply guard with the parchment base. (p/b/p/tort)

Nice, sounds like an exciting project.
Tony at Pickguardian made mine, I would suggest him to anyone it is beautiful. Tort top with parchment/black/parchment laminate, all celluloid. And he was cheaper than most.
Take a tracing if your white one, including holes and post it to him. Get in touch with him first though and have a chat. Top bloke.

This is my modded Classic '60s Jazz.

The neck is from a MIJ Jazz Bass Special. I'm waiting for a J Retro that I have on order to go with pair of DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups I already have, so I can super-charge this bass to the next level.
