Speaking of 8s, here's my custom 8 string Curbow with a prototype body shape that wasn't used but a couple of times:

The top is burled/flamed elm with a mahogany back, and the neck is the only quartersawn rockwood neck that I'm aware of. I think there are about 85 laminates. :D

Oh, and Geoff, what's the tuning on that? The strings look like they go by twos, if you know what I mean.
A friend of mine has a 12 string bass where it's 4 regular bass strings, but each one has 2 guitar strings right next to it. Sounds amazing if you can play it right. Is that whats going on with yours?

I don't think Geoff's bass is octave pairs. But, my fretless is set up that way.

I know it! But I'm a terrible photographer...

It's been back at the shop getting a couple things checked on, but shipped yesterday and should be back in my hot little hands next week. With luck, I'll also have some photos of my next Curbow project soon, too!
