That difference alone will set it apart from a Fender sound. (hb vs sc) As a basses character comes first from the pu/placement - it seems likely it sounds more like a T-bird II as long as it has 500k pots. (at least one made of alder and maple compared to mahogany) I made a Fenderbird (gen1 style Epi T-bird body/maple-rosewood neck) with Wilkinson hb's and a 9v FCS Kubicki pre and it sounds more like a Kubicki Factor than a T-bird.

That's the most distressed FCS example I've seen - very authentic.
I know and can guess some of their 'tricks' to achieve this but would love to be in the room when they do something like this. It's always distasteful to me when I hear the "dragged behind a truck" analogy used by those who personally don't get this artistic technique. I get it and I appreciate the skill and talent it takes to deliver such a realistic and believable gestalt.

I just find 'em around the intergoogle and bring 'em here. I bet this one smells like smokes and beer up close.
