Thanks - it is for sale currently on Reverb and I think also eBay. Very light (under 8lbs) and sounds like a good T-bird should. A friend who is a seamstress made 3 couch pillows using CG printed fabric for me. :)

We are attracted to the more theatrically distressed basses, but these basses that show they have been played without shouting are pretty nice also.

These late '60s basses are pretty special - Fenders 1st RI w/o calling it that. In most ways an exact copy of the '51 P, aside from not having a bakelite pg, phenolic saddles and big barrel string-thru ferrules. And way before the retro-resurgence of the post '85 Fender period. They can usually be bought for about what this one is going for, which is less than a P or J from the same period. Go figure.

Factory Oly white over black too. Early '66 (Jan-June) - the block & bound version finished off the year. Because only offered for 6 months - they are pretty special and usually are priced pretty high. A white pg is unusual, usually tort. Ever since I first saw one I wanted one but don't have that kind of 'expendable income'. So I found a '66 J stripped body and had a dot & bound neck made to spec. Now I can just look at them w/o gas. :)
